Excellent opportunity for an experienced HIM professional. This leadership position is responsible for records and data management, release of information, and revenue cycle management, including management of health information functions to support Select Specialty Hospitals.
ResponsibilitiesThe Release of Information (ROI) Manager is responsible for all tasks related to disclosing protected health information (PHI) from Select critical illness recovery hospitals and rehabilitation hospitals to authorized recipients. These tasks include obtaining patient consent when appropriate, tracking and fulfilling requests and collecting fees when appropriate. The role requires understanding, interpreting and applying patient privacy regulations to ensure information release is compliant with applicable laws and regulations and internal policies.
QualificationsRequired:
Bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management or associate’s degree in Health Information Technology or associated health care field required. Three (3) to five (5) years of management experience in ROI, health information management or other clinical role with knowledge of medical terminology, and the care of treatment of LTACH and/or Rehab patients.Experience with Epic or other electronic health record and other database programs.Excellent organizational skills, detail orientation, demonstration of the ability to set priorities, with proven problem solving skills. Shows a sense of urgency and confidentiality. Ability to work and communicate verbally and in writing, effectively, professionally, and respectfully with all members of the hospital, clinical staff, and other internal and external colleagues and customers.Ability to adapt to regulatory deadlines with changing workload and workflow without an interference to quality of work.Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision and to meet deadlines.Working knowledge of Microsoft products including PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, as well as ZoomPreferred:
Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) or Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) preferred.OnBase experience preferred. Additional Data
