Release Engineer - OpenShift Sandboxed Containers (Brno Office, Czech Republic)
The OpenShift Sandboxed Containers (OSC) team is looking for a Software Engineer to help drive the release of the OSC project and contribute to its ongoing development and success. In this role, you will collaborate with the development and management teams to ensure the project meets its goals and integrates seamlessly with upstream communities like Kata Containers, Confidential Containers, and PeerPods. You will handle RPM package builds, producing and reviewing backports and test plans, building operator images, improving automation processes, and coordinating release activities. Daily responsibilities will involve debugging systems and code, collaborating with development and quality engineering (QE) teams, and contributing to the upstream open-source communities. We’re seeking a motivated, proactive and adaptable engineer with a passion for learning and solving new challenges. What you will do + Build and maintain RPM packages (e.g., Kata Containers). + Produce and review backports, test plans, and operator images. + Enhance and streamline automation processes. + Coordinate the OSC release process with stakeholders. + Debug system and application-level issues in collaboration with development and QE teams. + Interact directly with upstream communities (Kata Containers, Confidential Containers, and PeerPods) to align and contribute to open-source initiatives.
