Rehab Aide

POSITION SUMMARY:

Works under the direct on-site supervision of rehab clinical staff. Performs a variety of routine rehab duties to assist the department in providing quality care and efficient operations.

 

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:

A High School Diploma or GED equivalent is preferred, along with an interest in the healthcare field.

COMPETENCIES:

This position requires an individual with good English communication skills, both verbal and written. Basic personal computer skills using windows based Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook is preferred.

          Job-Specific Competency

1.       Provides safe, timely, and comfortable transportation of patients.

2.       Coordinates patient schedules with other department personnel and communicates changes to the appropriate individuals.

3.       Checks name bands to ensure that appropriate patient is being treated.

4.       Cleans, sterilizes, and prepares whirlpools in accordance with department protocols.

5.       Performs routine cleaning of the treatment area and equipment in order to provide satisfactory conditions.

6.       Assists the clinician in the treatment of patients for transfers, ambulation, and mobility training.

7.       Assists and monitors patients during their treatment session as directed by the clinician.

8.       Performs errands as requested by the clinician in an accurate and timely manner.

9.       Distributes linen to the appropriate treatment areas on a regular basis or as needed.

10.   Performs routine ordering of supplies as directed by the managing clinician.

11.   Assists and performs clerical and reception duties to include insurance authorizations, filing, scheduling patients, answering phones, etc...

12.   Performs all duties with proper body mechanics.
