Regulatory Reporting Consultant (Hybrid)
Overview This is a hybrid role, with the expectation that time working will regularly take place inside and outside of a company office. This position leads Regulatory Reporting initiatives that improve data quality, governance, and reporting. Creates and maintains documentation to support data related activities within Regulatory Reporting. Manages data quality functions within Regulatory Reporting, including the support of critical data elements and data quality rules. This position also builds and maintains collaborative partnerships with the Data organization within the Bank to ensure success. This position is responsible for providing guidance and ensuring the Bank adheres to all governmental regulations and laws. Serves as subject matter expert (SME) and serves as mentor to other team members. Recommends updates and enhancements to maximize efficiencies and accuracy. Responsibilities Data Enhancement - Identifies and implements enhancements for the quality, management, and storage of Regulatory Reporting data. Executes initiatives that improve profiling, exception reporting, and issue resolution. Builds dashboards to modernize analytics where appropriate. Business Support - Creates data policies and procedures to be used both within the department. Reviews feedback from associates in order to identify areas of improvement within data management capabilities. Oversees data validation and reporting to ensure the quality and completeness of data prior to business use. Consultative Expertise - Maintains current and extensive knowledge of the laws and regulatory guidelines ensuring adherence. Identifies trends and advises on appropriate course of actions. Serves as subject matter expert regarding knowledge resources for all regulatory reporting matters. Compliance - Leads regulatory reporting compliance processes, programs, and change management initiatives for the department. Works closely with auditors and examiners during regulatory compliance examinations. Collects, analyzes, and reports on relevant statistics. Acts as the main contact source for outside audit companies. Manages the dissemination of compliance-related information to Bank associates. Develops and administers compliance training programs. Collaboration - Builds and maintains relationships with peers, senior and functional managers across the Bank, providing subject matter expert guidance to ensure regulatory reporting data is timely and accurate. Liaises with senior and executive management to oversee certain compliance procedures and offer risk management advice. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree and 8 years of experience in GAAP Accounting, Financial analysis, Financial Reporting OR High School Diploma or GED and 12 years of experience in GAAP Accounting, Financial analysis, Financial Reporting Preferred Education: Advanced Degree Preferred Area of Experience: Axiom SL Controller View License or Certification Type: Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Designation Preferred, Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Preferred Skill(s): Understanding of financial products (e.g. loans, securities, derivatives, etc.), Understanding of regulatory reporting instructions and banking regulations, Ability to lead projects/initiatives with high risk and complexity, Ability to read and interpret regulatory guidance and instructions and assess applicability to the Bank Preferred Qualifications: - SQL - Data analysis skills - Data quality and governance experience - Collibra First Citizens benefits programs are designed to meet our associates where they are in life.
