About the role:
Advanced Veterinary Specialists is seeking a full-time Registered Veterinary Technician to join the ER team.
Duties and responsibilities you may own in this role:Triage and prioritize incoming patientsStabilize patients in critical conditionAssist with diagnostic proceduresAdminister medications and fluidsProvide wound care and post-surgical supportMonitor vital signs and report abnormalitiesAssist during surgeries and emergency proceduresCommunicate with pet ownersMaintain accurate medical recordsEnsure cleanliness and sanitizationEducate pet owners on aftercareCollaborate with the veterinary teamStay updated through continuing educationOffer compassion and emotional support to patients and owners.Compensation range $26.00 - $35.00 hourly plus differentials.
Basic Required Qualifications:High school diploma2+ years of clinical experience in the veterinary industry, ER experience preferredCurrent and valid RVT license in the state of CAStrong interpersonal skills to effectively interface with staff and clients using tact, patience, professional courtesy, and exhibit confidentiality and discretion where appropriateConsistent and reliable ability to perform mathematical calculations for drug doses, CRIs, client invoices and estimates, and other position-related calculationsMaintain the California Veterinary Assistant Controlled Substance Permit (VACSP); must obtain within 60-days of hire or transfer into this role; (this requirement is waived if incumbent holds a valid CA-RVT license)
