Our client in the Health Industry is looking to hire a Registered Theatre Nurse.

 

Skills and Responsibilities

·         Practice patient care according to his/her Scope of Practice and assumes total responsibility for these activities.

·         Be active in preparing the theatre, and replenishment of stock, consignment and instrument replenishment of the operating room allocated to for a procedure list.

·         To take responsibility for own nursing actions and professional conduct.

·         Contributes to the holistic care of patients.

·         Damp dust your unit before your days task start.

·         Check that the scrub area is clean and properly stocked.

·         Practices the principles of infection prevention and all Standard precautions.

·         Compliance with documentation policy.

·         Ensures that all documentation is maintained accurately and timeously reflecting theatre procedures and care in a chronologically manner.

 

Requirements

·         Grade 12 or equivalent NQF level 4 qualification.

·         Relevant registration at SANC as Registered Nurse

·         Diploma in General Nursing

·         A Diploma or Certificate in Operating theatre technique would be advantageous.

·         Minimum of 5 years as an experience as a Registered Nurse.

·         Floor nurse and Anesthetic experience essential.

·         Experience within private hospital environment advantageous.

·         Skilled in all basic nursing procedures as well as procedures specific to the operating theatre environment.
