Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)

Position Summary: The RRT works under supervision of the Respiratory Care Medical Director and Department Manager while performing diagnostic respiratory therapy in accordance with physicians’ specific orders following Tidelands Health’s clinical guidelines and protocols. The RRT works as a charge therapist on a as needed basis when competent to do so.  The RRT assists with daily operations, educating patients, staff, nursing and physicians and has the ability to institute Oxygen Therapy when deemed a necessity without prior notification of the physician.  The RRT completes other duties as assigned while exhibiting exemplary core customer skills.

Qualifications

Education:

Completion of a respiratory education program supported by CoARC or JRCRTE or accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs required.Associates Degree

Experience:  

Prior experience as RRT preferred.Prior experience as a inpatient RRT preferred.Understanding of all modalities of therapy relating to Respiratory Care with the ability to apply and teach patients and implement procedures following our protocols required.

License/Certification:

Currently licensed and in good standing as a RCP with the SC State Board of Medical Examiners (NCBME) required. Currently registered and in good standing as a RRT with the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)ACLS Required.PALS/NRP preferred

Other:

Meditech experience preferred.Exemplary core customer skills required

Physical Requirements: Light Physical Agility Test (PAT) Rating

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently (activity or condition exists from 1/3 to 2/3 of the time) required to stand, sit, and walk; frequently to use hands, fingers; and frequently to talk or hear. The employee must exert up to 15 pounds of force occasionally (activity or condition exists up to 1/3 of the time), and/or up to 5 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
