Position Summary:
Provides direct day-to-day care of patients and families in the acute care setting. Under the direction of the Director/Manager and in collaboration with the Enterostomal Therapist and skin care team, functions as a member of the Patient Care Team to implement the patients plan of care. Serves as a resource in wound/skin/ostomy management. Provides care specific to ages and developmental needs of neonates to adult and geriatric patients. Participates in performance excellence initiatives that are focused on improving patient care and outcomes. Willing to travel to outlying areas in the Conemaugh health System to provide wound/ostomy care. Provides education to staff, physicians, patients, family and the community regarding skin/wound care and ostomy needs.
Minimum Qualifications:
Graduate of a School of Nursing, College or University
Current PA RN license that is active and in good standing
Minimum two years of medical/surgical experience with experience in would/ostomy care
CPR Certification
BSN strongly preferred
Vascular, burns or wound care experience preferred
Certified Would Specialist or commitment to obtain in three years preffered
