Work hours: Full Time (40 hours), Day Shift

Qualifications

Education

·       Bachelor's Degree Nursing required

 

Experience

·       2 years nursing experience required

·       Previous wound, ostomy and continence experience preferred.

 

Licenses and Certifications

·       RN - Registered Nurse upon hire required AND

·       CWCN – Certified Wound Care Nurse 12 months required OR

·       CWON – Certified Wound Ostomy Nurse 12 months required OR

·       CWOCN – Certified Wound Ostomy Continence Nurse 12 months required AND

·       BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required AND

·       CPI – Crisis Prevention Intervention Training maintained annually 90 days required

 

What You Will Do

·       Collaborates with the multidisciplinary team to improve care processes that promote continuity of care.

·       Recommends standards for cost-effective supplies/equipment related to wound, ostomy and incontinence care to be utilized in the hospital through evaluation and product research studies.

·       Provides appropriate written information to both patients and staff, including post operative and discharge instructions, referrals and supply needs.

·       Serves as patient advocate and as a liaison between patient family and physician.

·       Strives to meet Departmental Key Performance Indicators/System Key Focus Areas.

·       Actively participates in formal and informal teaching and evaluation to strengthen clinical competence of self and team members.

·       Participates in data collection for national quality data base.
