We are looking for a Registered Nurse for our IMC Unit at Inova Mount Vernon Hospital for a full-time role to perform comprehensive assessment by interpreting multiple, sometimes conflicting data, formulates an individualized plan of care for patients based on assessment findings, advocates patients rights from the patient/family perspective, coordinates health care and alternate services for patient/family.

IMCU is a 32 bed, semi-private unit. It’s IMVH’S Telemetry unit, and one of the 2 inpatient units that admit stroke patients. We admit and care for a variety of health issues/diagnosis such as heart failure, stroke, COPD, Acute MI etc.

Schedule: 3-12 hour shifts (Days Shift)

Sign-On/Relocation Bonus Information: This position is eligible for a competitive Sign-On Bonus. Candidates who are relocating 50 miles or further are also eligible for relocation assistance.  

Experience Requirements: Requires a minimum of 1-year Registered Nurse clinical experience in the acute care setting

Minimum Education Requirement: BSN from an accredited school of nursing. If RN has an Associates Degree (ADN); must complete BSN within 5 years of start date. BLS for Healthcare Provider Certification required and ACLS strongly preferred (must obtain within first 3 months)

Minimum Licensure/ Certification Requirement:

Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Virginia or hold a privilege to practice in the State of Virginia under the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC). Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification from the American Heart Association required upon start.
