Registered Nurse (RN) Fellow Pediatrics Medical/Surgical Day/Night Rotating

We are seeking a Pediatric Registered Nurse Fellow for a 22-bed Pediatric Medical Surgical Unit at Inova Fairfax Hospital/ Inova L.J Children's Hospital. Schedule: Full time ( 3-12 hour shifts)- rotating shift (3weeks Days, 3week Nights).

Unit Description: The Pediatric Medical Surgical Unit is a 48-bed unit that sees patients from birth to 23 years old. The unit sees all sorts of pediatric patients. Some of the most common admitting diagnoses are asthma, RSV, seizures, dehydration, poor feeding, suicide attempts, and headaches. The most common surgeries performed are appendicitis, bowel obstructions, general abdominal surgery and tonsils. The patient/nurse ratio is usually 4 to 5 patients to 1 RN.

Schedule: Full time (3-12 hour shifts)- rotating shift (3 weeks Days, 3 weeks Nights)

 

Requirements:

A minimum of 1 year of Registered Nurse clinical experience. Strongly preferred Peds RN with at least 1-year of RN experience. Education: BSN from an accredited school of nursing. If RN has an Associates Degree (ADN); must complete BSN within five years of start date. American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Provider certification required. RN licensed, or eligible to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a RN. Proficient in English, strong verbal and written communication skills. Exceptional interpersonal skill and the ability to display a caring demeanor towards others. Proficient computer skills required.
