Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Registered Nurse Navigator- Perlmutter Cancer Center- Head & Neck and GI.

In this role, the successful candidate Provides clinical leadership and coordination for a patient care population or program consistent with the philosophy and goals of the institution, departments of nursing, and clinical service; directs, prioritizes and coordinates patient care activities, quality and performance improvement initiatives, and development and education of staff.

Job Responsibilities:

Navigate patients through the cancer continuum from diagnosis through survivorship. Serves as an educational
resource for the patient and family. Assist with scheduling relevant screening, diagnostic tests and consultations.Assist in identifying patients appropriate for tumor conferences, maintain awareness of current clinical trials
available, collaborate with clinical trials staff, and make appropriate referrals.Performs other duties as assigned Keep informed and current with developments in the field of oncology, health promotion, and patient education
programs.Contributes data for quality improvement initiatives within the Institute for Cancer Care. Collaborates with tumor
registry with relevant data collection studies as they pertain to designated cancers.Responsible for monitoring of best practices in designated cancer site. Collaborates with members of the medical
team to ensure information is current and understood by all of the physicians, nurses, and other team members.Assist in the monitoring and evaluation of supportive services, ensuring that quality standards and best
practices are maintained. Provides feedback to supervisor on a regular basis. Assists administrative staff to meet departmental and
institutional goalsWorks within a multidisciplinary team of navigators, social workers, physicians and other members of the
team. Works to resolve existing barriers to promote optimal delivery of care.Works collaboratively with community organizations and other members of the team to promote the education and support of patients.

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Current Registered Professional Nurse in New York. Baccalaureate degree in nursing required. A minimum of four years of clinical practice in the care of the patient population served; Ability to apply nursing process toward achievement of specific outcomes in an organized fashion which addresses patient/family satisfaction; Demonstrates the potential for leadership; demonstrates ability to develop, guide, motivate, nurture, and coach others; participates in service or departmental committees, staff and/or patient education programs. Required Licenses: Registered Nurse License-NYS

Preferred Qualifications:
Senior Nurse Clinician level. Certification in relevant practice area. Masters degree in nursing or related field.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $118,614.00 - $135,000.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
