Aspirus Health Clinic in Wausau, WI is seeking a Registered Nurse to join our team!

Assists in the delivery of health care as dictated by best practice standards in the walk-in setting. Utilizes RN nursing skills while assessing and triaging patients, providing care while patients are in the department, and informing patients of test results. The position requires the ability to make decisions consistent with clinic policies and the strict observance of confidentiality of patient information. The position also requires the ability to adapt quickly to changing departmental needs and the diverse patient population and influx or patient census while consistently displaying a high degree of customer service skills. 

HOURS: Part Time or 0.60 FTE, 48 hours every 2 weeks

Experience/Qualifications

 Knowledge of patient care standards normally acquired through graduation of an accredited R.N. program. One or two year’s medical experience preferred. Possesses an active Wisconsin RN nursing license. Current BLS certification or obtained within 60 days of hire - All clinical personnel in identified job codes are required to maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) training through independent study, manikin and knowledge testing. An acceptable CPR training program is the Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider course from the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross Professional Rescuer Program with AED. (See Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Training Policy). Knowledge of professional nursing theory and practice to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care. Knowledge of organizational policies, regulations, and procedures to administer patient care. Knowledge of medical equipment and instruments to administer patient care. Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment. Skill in applying and modifying the principles, methods, and techniques of professional nursing to provide on-going patient care. Skill in identifying problems and recommending solutions. Skill in preparing and maintaining records, writing protocols, and responding to correspondence. Skill in developing and maintaining relationships with patients, medical staff and the public.  Ability to assess patients in person and over the telephone; make recommendations of care and document. Ability to interpret, adapts, and applies guidelines and procedures. Knowledge and use of crash cart and defibrillator.
