JOB SUMMARY

Coordinate and assist the provider to ensure quality/cost effective service and care for the people within the practice population. The Registered Nurse serves as a leader of the healthcare team by establishing an authentic personalized relationship with the patient and their chosen support system, collaborating with physicians and other team members to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate an individualized plan of care that promotes optimal health The Registered Nurse utilizes best scientific evidence and compassion to assist the patent in navigating their health journey. The Registered Nurse accepts responsibility, authority, and accountability for management and provision of care in accordance with the current policies and procedures.

Patient Care: Identifies opportunities to improve patient care based on feedback from staff and customers.  

Interviews and advises patients regarding health and illness prevention.   Recommends community resources to meet patient and family needs.  Monitors quality of core process in department. 

Teamwork: Works within a team to achieve patient treatment goals. 

Shares and initiates regular and professional communication with co-workers.   Participates in regular staff meeting.   Collaborates with other departments or disciplines to achieve desired outcomes. 

Technical Competency: Interprets and integrates data to determine appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic procedures needed.  

Obtains complete history and physical data on patients.   Reviews patient records.   Performs a complete physical exam and records findings.   Establishes presumptive diagnosis.   Orders appropriate laboratory and diagnostic procedures.   Synthesizes data to determine preliminary diagnosis and therapeutic plan utilizing principles of prevention.    Provides care that is appropriate for specific age groups. 

The incumbent may be asked to perform additional duties as assigned.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Completion of a nursing program approved by the State Board of Nursing.

Experience: 1 year of experience in a physician practice environment preferred. Refer to the Life Support Training Policy for additional details.

Licensure: Current RN license in applicable state required.

Additional Skills/Requirements Required: N/A

Additional Skills/Requirements Preferred: Knowledge of OSHA guidelines and Universal Precautions protocols.
