Candidate Profile:
JD from a top-tier law school with a strong academic record. Active Bar Admission in D.C. 3-6 years of substantive experience in registered investment companies. Familiarity with the Investment Company Act and Investment Advisers Act is necessary. Exposure to exchange-traded funds, variable insurance products, business development companies, investment advisers, or commodities is advantageous. Preference for candidates with prior experience in a large law firm, in-house, or a regulatory agency. Key Responsibilities Advise clients on complex issues relating to registered investment companies, supporting a diverse client base that includes start-ups, boutique firms, and global financial institutions. Provide counsel on regulatory compliance with the Investment Company Act and Investment Advisers Act, and other pertinent regulations. Draft, review, and negotiate fund documentation, disclosures, and other relevant materials for mutual funds, exchange-traded funds, and other investment products. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to manage client engagements, contributing legal insight and strategic guidance across a variety of fund structures and transactions. Stay abreast of emerging trends in the financial services industry to proactively identify client opportunities and address challenges.
