Registered Dietician Nutritionist Coach

We are looking for a Registered Dietician Nutritionist Coach to join the member services team here at Progyny. Our ideal RDN Coach is a food and nutrition expert who is a proactive person, with excellent communication skills and a positive, can-do attitude, having up to date, current knowledge of women’s nutritional health standards, this includes knowledge of preconception, fertility, pregnancy, postpartum, peri-menopause, and menopause, and the dietary needs for members in those life journeys. This person also needs to understand the complications that can arise from conditions within those journeys and how those complications can impact their nutritional status and needs. This individual should be able to provide education and support options for these members. The patient is at the center of everything we do-what you do will matter as you educate and support Progyny’s members no matter what journey of life they are on.  

What you’ll do… 

Partner with the member to provide nutritional support and education to Progyny’s members enrolled in the Preconception Program, Fertility Benefit, Pregnancy & Postpartum Program, or Menopause Program.  

Expertly create healthy eating plans backed by scientific evidence-based research for Progyny’s members.  This will help them achieve a healthy lifestyle and therefore reduce their risk for developing chronic illnesses or manage their current symptoms of chronic illnesses.  

Continue the coach-member relationship by providing scheduled outreaches as well as ongoing concierge education and support as needed.  

Effectively provide food and nutrition education and support to members through their preconception, fertility, pregnancy, postpartum and menopause journeys.   

Provide information on normal diet and nutrition guidelines as well as high-risk conditions that could arise.  

Appropriately be able to determine when member needs to be escalated to their provider or higher level of care for further assessment and treatment.  

Possess empathy to care for and support members through less-than-ideal situations. 

Be able to efficiently multi-task member calls, emails, and cases.  

Be comfortable helping members navigate both the Progyny app/portal which will house nutritional digital resources for our members.  

Provide additional resources to members as needed and be able to determine the appropriate materials to send to member based on their personal journey and symptoms. 

Stay up to date with recent evidence-based research related to food and nutrition guidelines.  

Be comfortable recording digital content for Progyny’s platforms related to diet and nutrition across all of Progyny’s member journeys.  

About you… 

Prior experience as a Registered Dietician Nutritionist, Registered Dietician,  Certified Nutrition Specialist (CNS), Certified Clinical Nutritionist (CCN), Certified Health Education Specialist,  Clinical Nutritionist with active licensure or certification or bachelors degree in a related field with accreditation  from The Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition. 

Minimum 1 year experience in Women’s Health nutrition or related field 

Driven to provide care for all Progyny members, no matter their journey (Preconception, Fertility, Pregnancy, Postpartum, Menopause and beyond) via telephone and email in order to establish rapport and earn trust with them during this challenging time of their lives. 

Ability to communicate accurately and concisely. 

Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills. 

Possess excellent time management skills and the ability to multitask and prioritize work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. 

Action oriented and motivated by results. 

Knowledge of fertility industry and patient procedures required 

Prior experience in insurance or call center environments 

Strong communication and presentations skills. 

Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.  

Comfortable owning the member experience and communicating to members on the phone and email.

In compliance with New York City's Wage Transparency Law, the annual salary [wage] range for NYC-based applicants is: $33.00/hour - $38.00/hour. There are a variety of factors that go into determining a salary range, including but not limited to external market benchmark data, geographic location, and years of experience sought/required. Progyny offers a total compensation package comprised of base salary, cash bonus, and equity.
