Houston, TX (RDA) - Welding equipment rentalHow will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?Reporting to the Red-D-Arc President, the incumbent is responsible for leading the sales, operations, and distribution, as well as the human capital resource planning and strategy development for their Region.Essential Functions
Ensures each branch within the region is visited on a quarterly basis.
Conduct Business reviews with Regional Operations Managers, District Managers, and Branch Managers within the region to assess current and upcoming projects, equipment / building standards, inventory issues, open rental agreements, credit issues, and the overall Customer Experience
Participate in annual sales meetings and quarterly business reviews.
Be involved in the talent acquisition process and personally interview anyone being considered for a management or sales position.
Conduct scheduled performance reviews and annual wage reviews of direct reports.
If required, assist regional sales managers with annual reviews of region sales staff.
Work with District Managers and Regional Operations Managers to plan strategies & training programs to improve sales skills of inside staff.
Oversees internal & external training for the Regional organization and teams in support of Company Initiatives and local development needs.
Plans, prepares and manages annual operating budget for their region.
Review monthly P&L and question DM and ROM on any substantial variances (positive as well as negative)to allow for discovering the answers
Approve customer credits and branch expenditures over Region Operations Manager’s approval authority limits.
Reviews and approves all wage increases for their region.
Researches and targets new locations for future branch / satellite / consignment for future growth, including potential acquisition targets.
Expand present boundaries and develop new markets aligned with Company growth strategies
Develop and execute an annual sales growth plan. Implement specific product line growth strategies to grow regional volumes year-over-year.
Participate in annual business review with Airgas senior management.
Plan and participate in RVP & Regional Sales Manager meetings, possibly as a prelude to our exec meetings in quarters as necessary.
Each RVP will have some additional “corporate” responsibilities as assigned
Work on personal goals set by the Red-D-Arc President.
Maintains a safe working environment by following Airgas Safecor and Red-D-Arc specific health and safety guidelines.
Performs other related duties as required.

Education
Post-secondary University or College Degree or equivalent professional work experience
Experience
Experience in operations, industrial equipment rental or welding equipment preferred.
10+ years experience managing and developing people
Welding training/knowledge is an asset.
