Regional Training Nurse RN

Position:  Regional Training Nurse RN 

Pay:  $75,000 - $85,000 / yearly   Depending On Experience

The Regional Training Nurse coordinates orientation and training for new nurses along with any retraining of nurses as needed.

Qualifications:

1. Must be currently licensed as a Registered Nurse. Preferred - bachelor’s degree in nursing.
2. Three (3) years’ experience of patient care skills in hospice and knowledge of EMR.  Preferred Two (2) years’ experience as an educator in a healthcare environment,         including orientation for new nurses.
 3. Demonstrated ability to utilize the principles, methodologies and practices of adult education, instructional design, evaluation, and research.  Computer literacy required
 4. Demonstrated interpersonal and organizational skills for program coordination.
5. Demonstrated ability to use a variety of presentation skills and education and facilitation techniques.  Verbal and written communication skills a must.
 5. Demonstrated knowledge of Hospice philosophy as well as regulatory requirements.
 6. Possesses teaching ability, strong interpersonal, motivational and communication skills.
 7. Travel to offices within the region is optional based on the training needs identified.
 8. Ability to work remotely with the ability to utilize Microsoft Teams as a platform for education and training.
9. Ability to work independently as well as to coordinate with other team members.

Responsibilities:

1. Adheres to the Caris Mission, Vision, and Values and assures compliance with the Caris Promises
  2. Coordinates with the PCM to conduct orientation sessions for new nurses per standard operating procedure.
  3. Manage training schedules and logistics to effectively train new partners.
  4. Ensure training materials are up to date with the latest hospice care practices and regulations.
  5. Identify areas for improvement in hospice care practices and training programs as indicated.
  6. Maintain accurate and up to date records of orientation provided to each new nurse via LMS.
  7. Monitor monthly reports regarding training completion and new partner orientation feedback.
  8. Provide specialized knowledge and learning opportunities for the nurse to ensure agency compliance with all operating procedures.
  9. Provide leadership and mentorship to new nurses to enhance staff development and retention.
  10. Audit documentation periodically after the initial orientation period to assure compliance and provide additional education, as necessary.
  11. Complete a minimum of one Admission and one Routine visit each quarter and document in the electronic medical record.
  12. Complete workflow assignments in EMR as needed for offices without a PCM.
  13. Train new PCMs as needed on workflow assignments.
  14. Conduct educational in-services to clinical teams as needed.
  15. Attend yearly Clinical LDI.
