Regional Sales Manager-West Region (Food & Beverage Sales)

Your Opportunity as Regional Sales Manager-West Region (Food & Beverage Sales)

In this role you will be the Sales Account Manager for strategic West Grocery Accounts.  You will be responsible for working with our broker partner to manage the sales goal delivery, customer Joint Business Plans, and all aspects of the sales cycle associated with assigned accounts.  Key measurable will be delivering top line net sales, balancing a trade spending budget, achieving market share goals, and hitting profitability targets.

Location: Candidates must reside within the following area for consideration: West US Region (within 1 hour of major airport). Additional priority given to candidates living in California. Candidates within 1 hour of Orrville, OH will also be considered. 

Work Arrangements: Working from home office up to 50% expected travel. A majority of travel occasions will be throughout central and southern California

In this role you will be a sales manager for a strategic business unit with goal to drive profitable sales growth and brand share for both Smucker & our customers.

Business Management

Develop and implement plans to drive brand/category growth and achieve or exceed sales/profit goalsManage business development and build productive relationship with sales broker teamMonitor sales execution with broker partner and adjust as needed to achieve objectivesLead and influence negotiations for new items, key initiatives, etc.Drive brand share growth in market and with customerBuild & maintain collaborative relationships with all internal cross-functional constituentsSupport and partner with Supply Chain team to drive solutions at CustomerWork with closeout team to efficiently manage through aging inventory

Business Planning & Analysis

Own creation and execution of company annual plans & customer Joint Business PlanPerform in-depth analysis of sales and profit components, including merchandising, promotional and supply chain opportunitiesWork with syndicated, and other data sources to manage and inform strategic and tactical plansManage internal sales system (promotions, deductions, forecast, etc.)Effectively manage trade budgets, as well as distribution, shelving, merchandising, and pricing objectivesAd-hoc financial and data analysis, including pre/post event analysis

What we are looking for:

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degreeA minimum of 5 years of Consumer-Packaged Goods (CPG) sales/account management Proven leader in negotiation successPrevious broker management experience Previous account management experience at a National Account headquarters or Regional Account headquartersStrong communication skills (verbal and written)Ability to meet work travel needsStrong technical skills in office applications (i.e Excel, PowerPoint)Ability to relocate in the future for other job opportunities within the company may be requiredReside within 1 hour of one of major airport within West Region

Additional skills and experience that we think would make someone successful in this role:

Joint Business Planning experience Previous experience calling on National accounts, with priority given to CA customersProficient in use of syndicated data sources (IRI/Nielsen), or other sales data systems
