The Regional Operations Support Manager will act as a technical subject matter expert (SME) for route optimization software and lead the deployment and training of onboard computing systems throughout Casella’s operating footprint. The incumbent will be responsible for the development and maintenance of operations policies and procedures, creating durable processes, and leading routing initiatives. Additionally, they will provide guidance and offer training and ongoing technical support to management, drivers, dispatchers, and office personnel to ensure system data can be used to drive growth in efficiency and sales. This position reports to the Vice President of Operations.

Key Responsibilities Utilizes routing optimization software proficiently and identifies operational opportunities such as container upsizing, container conversions, acquisition integration, and fleet right-sizing.Leads demonstrations to various operational leaders and participates in design discussions for continuous software improvement.Conducts “train the trainer” sessions to train and support power users of the current on-board computer software.Leads hands-on demonstrations of product configuration to drivers, dispatchers, office personnel, and operational leaders.Participates in project management discussions to identify business unit and end-user needs as well as opportunities for continuous improvement.Develops and executes training sessions and materials for various levels of employees to ensure proper knowledge of SoftPak, on-board computing, and future systems.Manages and provides leadership to team members by effectively communicating, establishing clear goals and objectives, coaching team members on achieving goals, and ensuring access to training and development opportunities that assist employees in attaining the necessary skills to achieve team and corporate results. Participates in training and other learning opportunities to expand knowledge of the company, products, sales, and services and performs any other duties needed to help drive our vision, fulfill our mission, and/or abide by our core values.Ensures compliance with all company, state, and federal policies, regulations, and laws regarding employment and employee safety. Education, Experience & Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred. Minimum 4-6 years of operational experience in the waste industry with technical understanding of software operating systems. Proven ability to work comfortably with software engineers and demonstrated proficiency in MS Office 365 and other related platforms. A valid driver’s license and the ability to travel 50% of the time with periodic overnight travel is required. Must be legally eligible to work in the United States. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, effective listening, and problem-solving abilities. Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team in a collaborative environment.
