Regional Marketing Manager

Reporting directly to the VP, Marketing & Communications, Global, the Regional Marketing Manager (RMM) provides marketing leadership, strategic expertise, and support to the India regional marketing team by communicating and ensuring an understanding of the strategic direction for the team, their various job functions, and the regions and business operating units they serve. The RMM will support the VPMCG to develop / deliver the annual integrated marketing and business plan to achieve the team’s operational goals set forth by the Marketing, Communications, and Public Relations (MCPR) Leadership team to ensure the India offering is well managed and delivered. Through a team of marketing professional direct and indirect reports, the RMM works directly with the VPMCG and wider MCPR leadership enterprise-wide to develop strong, lasting relationships with key internal clients; identify project opportunities; and lead a strong team of MCPR professionals in India to successfully support the operational requirements of the various MCPR teams supporting the wider Stantec business. This role will both manage the team and execute various project work to support the broader MCPR team. Success is represented by the development of Stantec’s relationship with key clients, building of the reputation of the team and our success at supporting the business. The role requires a very close relationship working with the Stantec team of Marketing, Business Development, Public Relations, and Communications professionals to lead a team that builds our brand awareness and identifies market opportunities for top line growth. Role & Responsibilities: Team Leadership - Demonstrate teamwork with the broader MCPR leadership and the local India leadership - Develop and implement strategies for delivering high-quality services that meet the needs of Stantec's various business centers across the company. - Foster strong relationships with key stakeholders, including the VPMCG and MCPR Directors within other regions that have employees directly in India with dotted reporting to the RMTL role (i.e. Middle East, North America Corporate and BOU), Pursuit Managers and teams, Regional Directors and BCOLs. Understand their needs and requirements and ensure that the regional team provides services in alignment with broader MCPR goals. - Responsible for recruiting, motivating, and providing ongoing leadership, mentoring, and coaching to a team of marketing and communication professionals within the region who work to implement and achieve MCPR goals. - Responsible for the guidance, supervision, hiring, evaluation, performance, and termination of direct reports - Manage team workload and the systems and tools associated with tracking of work - Ensure ideas and concerns from the team are communicated to the VPMCG and other related internal supervisors as appropriate - Work with VPMCG to establish and maintain project numbers and time coding systems for team members - Be available to internal clients to mitigate comments, questions, concerns on performance and workload. - Function as a knowledge resource and leader for team members Strategy & System Support and Implementation - Fluency in understanding Stantec’s communication and marketing systems and tools including the Stantec Marketing Knowledge Center (SMKC), stantec.com, Stantec Pipeline, The Lens, etc. to ensure regional team members provide appropriate support for these systems and tools - Work closely with MCPR Leadership to execute at the local level, marshalling resources, implementing process improvements, applying effective project management skills, anticipating risks, putting mitigation plans in place - Collaborate with MCPR stakeholders to identify opportunities for process improvements and service excellence. - Develop and maintain service levels and ensure they are met or exceeded. - Define key performance metrics for the regional team, and measure performance. - Maintain knowledge and understanding of administrative budget processes Business Development/Account Management/Proposal Understanding - Understand all aspects of the MCPR business and deliverables to guide local staff in the execution of various deliverables - Prepare high-impact proposals, presentations, and other communications in alignment with the Stantec brand as and when requested - Serve in a quality control capacity during the preparation and review of materials developed regionally with specific emphasis on brand alignment, relevance, accuracy, and timely delivery - Lead debriefs meetings following major project efforts - Attend, as appropriate, key business and community, functions to represent Stantec’s MCPR leadership team in establishing and supporting Stantec’s leadership role in the local/regional business community relative to growing our MCPR team locally and being known as a great place to work. - Maintain a high-level knowledge of Stantec's markets, clients, capabilities, staff, and primary competitors to support the development of pursuits as identified in the marketing and business development plans - Provide marketing leadership for all aspects related to the proposal process including workflow coordination, Marketing Go / No Go, resource requirements, and technical content needs - Serve in a quality control capacity during the preparation and review of major client presentation materials and/or pursuits developed regionally with specific emphasis on brand alignment, relevance, accuracy, and timely delivery. Brand Management/Promotions - Be a brand steward and uphold and promote the adherence to Stantec’s brand guidelines - Support those team members, especially those engaged in visual communication design, in their efforts to produce all work according to brand standards. - Understanding and fluency in the Stantec brand including the brand platform and the visual and written application of it. Education/Experience: - Post-Secondary degree or diploma in business, sales, marketing and/or communications - Minimum 8-10 years of progressive experience in a senior marketing role in a medium to large sized organization. AEC industry experience is a plus. Other Requirements: - Strong knowledge and understanding of marketing, communications, pursuit process functions, and business development best practice and how they contribute to revenue growth - Excellent and concise spoken and written English communication skills - Strong communicator who can act quickly with clarity and consistency with internal clients, team, and colleagues. - Problem solver and ability to resolved conflict and effectively balance conflicting priorities. - Strong experience working with interested parties around the world and ability to collaborate across various levels of leadership. - Proven experience in creating strategic plans aligned with high-level organizational goals; and leading the achievement of strategic goals and objectives by delivering high-quality customer-focused services. - Strong people management skills with demonstrated ability to build high performing teams. - Demonstrated experience coaching/mentoring teams. - Results oriented and able to achieve high-quality results consistent with the organization’s standards - Detail oriented and organized, with exceptional prioritization skills - Ability to effectively communicate with senior management, supervisors, peers, and clients, internally and externally - Ability to work effectively within a group as well as independently motivated with minimal supervision - Anticipates change to adapt plans and priorities. - Commitment to client service and ability to work in a team-oriented environment - Embraces and promotes and open and inclusive culture in service delivery.
