GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB.       With general supervision from the Service Extension Director, the Field Manager is the liaison between The Salvation Army and the local communities in the assigned geographical area of Lorain, Erie and Medina Counties.   The Field Manager shall interpret The Salvation Army and its programs to the community; and likewise, the community, its people and needs to The Salvation Army, and while utilizing established procedures and programs shall resolve such human needs as is possible and practical. This individual will make the assigned Service Units expanded, stable, visible, and integral part of the Service Extension Department’s outreach ministry. Also to serve as department administrative liaison handling social media, thank you’s, reach outs, stat tracking and camp registrations.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES.   Develops, maintains, refines, and expands Service Unit committees within the assigned geographical area.

Manages and assists local Units/Centers in structuring the following:delivery of servicespublic relationsfundraisingCommittee buildingParticipates in staff meetings and annual planning and goal setting.Provides input for preparation and monitoring of local budgets. Serves as liaison in all Unit-Corps / Divisional Headquarters / ARC relationships and provides reports to the Service Extension Director.Visits local units on a regular basis, recruits new committee members as needed due to retirement, job transfer, etc.Review with committees the local activities, up-coming events, makes recommendations for replacements, and conveys thanks to members for their interest and volunteer support.  Also exercises judgment on unique or special cases.Represents The Salvation Army in United Way functions, participates in Agency Director’s meetings and officially represents The Salvation Army in all community relations in coordination with the local committees.  Must be familiar with the community, its leaders, its people, and its problems.Assist with grant proposals providing the necessary information such as stats, demographics, and or testimonies.Provide direct oversite to office employees, giving support where needed. Prepare annual reviews for the office employees in a timely manner.Track and assure all units are submitting their monthly reimbursements, bank statements, stats and any other information needed by Service Extension Director and or Divisional Headquarters.Manage and facilitate the Facebook postings of all units where a local volunteer is not on the account. Provide responses to any on-line inquiries for all of the units and directing them to the correct location. Prepare thank you’s to donors who send their checks directly to the units.Serve as camp liaison and making sure everyone is keeping up with their camper enrollments, offering assistance to the other Regional Field Managers in reaching out to parents.

 

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:  Supervise Service Extension Department Staff, Human Services                         Worker(s), and Volunteers.

 

Qualifications

MINIMUM EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE. 

 

Regional Field Representative

Four years of College or five years work experience in similar field.Must be able to communicate and relate to individuals and groups.Be able to make decisions independently within prescribed Salvation Army policies and procedures.Ability to meet the specific job requirements.

SPECIAL SKILLS, CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS.

Excellent supervisory skillsAbility to communicate with and relate to individuals and groupsHave ODRC volunteer and/or contractor credentials
