The Regional Engineering Manager for the Phoenix office will lead and grow a project and design engineering team, provide operational oversight, and pursue new work opportunities with power generation clients in the Western region, in particular renewable (Solar, BESS) clients. This role will require a good understanding of our company's technical capabilities together with the client's needs as well as our competitors and talent pool in the region. The successful candidate will leverage knowledge of our company's technical capabilities, regional competitors, and the talent pool to establish and lead a highly skilled, committed team of engineers and designers.

Our rapidly growing Power district, which includes structural, civil, piping, mechanical, process, process safety, electrical, instrument and control disciplines, is a multi-faceted division of Kiewit with best-in-class technical expertise focused on the EPC delivery model for power facilities. We offer a variety of engineering services, including owner's engineering, project development, detailed engineering and design, construction management and plant services. Our engineering teams bring power projects to life across North America in the following areas:
· Gas-fired generation
· Power delivery
· Environmental retrofits
· Renewables and new technology
· Water/wastewater
This position will be located in our Phoenix Arizona office (or in Tempe Arizona) with frequent travel. We do offer relocation assistance to the Phoenix area.
Responsibilities Manage regional projects with a focus on Renewable projects, while monitoring performance using predefined metrics (progress, financial health, schedule adherence, risk, and opportunities). Build teams to ensure quality execution (adherence to budget, schedule, and quality). Develop and grow the regional business by building client relationships throughout the Western United States region. Drive business growth through expanding all of Kiewit's service offerings within the client organization. Assist in efforts to recruit and expand a locally based engineering team in the Phoenix/Southwest area. Develop, mentor, and retain local talent, ensuring clear career paths and professional development opportunities. Engage in business development pursuits, key partnerships, strategy, and initiatives, including development and review of proposals and estimates. Coordinate bid and project staffing needs and availability through regular cross-functional meetings and routinely with business line peers. Provide day-to-day supervision of office staff; serve as the primary office representative within the regional organization. Collaborate with other Kiewit districts to maximize exposure of the company's capabilities to the client. Manage regional client financial performance, revenue delivered, achieved net gain, and billable utilization. Actively participate in business planning and market strategy development. Facilitate effective communication between design and construction project leadership. Communicate project design and key performance indicators and their status with the client. Ensure proper coordination of technical details across multiple engineering disciplines. Plan and communicate needs for Kiewit Engineering resources to support projects. Responsible for meeting project engineering schedules and budgets. Identify current and future risks along with mitigation strategies. Consolidate best practices from project execution across the business.#LI-JB1
Qualifications Bachelor's degree in engineering. At least 15 years of engineering experience in power generation; experience with Renewable power desired. At least 10 years of management experience, including client account management, local recruitment and team development. Knowledge of engineering standards as they relate to the power industry. Professional Engineering license or PMP Certification desired. Strong organizational and time management skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills; fluent in English. Ability to identify potential technical staff to support project design and execution, and project mentor technical staff and foster a team environment. Attention to detail and ability to recognize discrepancies. Strong work ethic and willingness to do what it takes to get the job done. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
