**Position Statement:**
The Regional Director of Engineering Operations is responsible for overseeing hotel engineering operations across multiple countries, ensuring strategic alignment with corporate objectives and VP Operations' directives\. The role emphasizes multi\-country oversight, driving operational excellence, delivering capital projects, and maintaining strong relationships with property owners and cross\-functional stakeholders\.
**Position Summary:**
**Areas of responsibility will cover \(but not be limited to\):**
• Provide strategic leadership for engineering operations across multiple countries, overseeing a portfolio of multi\-brand properties\.
• Collaborate with VP Operations and senior leadership to implement long\-term regional engineering strategies aligned with Hilton’s corporate goals\.
• Oversee compliance with brand standards, fire, life, and safety \(FLS\) requirements, and local regulations across all properties in the region\.
• Lead and manage multi\-million\-dollar capital projects, renovations, and energy efficiency initiatives, ensuring timely delivery and ROI\.
• Act as the primary liaison with property owners for technical matters, ensuring alignment on asset management strategies\.
• Support hotel engineering teams in implementing sustainability initiatives to meet Hilton’s **2030 Travel with Purpose** goals\.
• Provide technical expertise and guidance during hotel openings, conversions, and PIP processes\.
• Manage a team of senior engineering professionals and ensure the effective execution of operational strategies at the country level\.
• Regularly report to VP Operations and senior leadership on the status of engineering performance, CAPEX projects, and compliance across the region\.
**Asset Maintenance Management:**
• Develop and execute a regional engineering strategy to align with corporate objectives and long\-term goals\.
• Identify opportunities for cost optimization, efficiency improvements, and technical innovation across the portfolio\.
• Provide technical insights during strategic discussions with owners, developers, and corporate teams\.
• Ensure compliance with FLS standards, regulatory requirements, and Hilton’s engineering policies across multiple properties\.
• Monitor and evaluate the performance of hotel engineering teams, providing actionable feedback to enhance operations\.
• Establish and ensures that preventive maintenance and asset management are delivered to standards safeguarding the value of owners assets and all hotels’ records of maintenance and testing are documented and kept\.
• Analyze POMEC performance and address budget variances while optimizing operational costs\.
• Enhance guest experience by maintaining high\-quality engineering standards and addressing QA issues\.
• Drive cost efficiencies through central tendering activities whilst ensuring highest standard delivery from centrally contracted vendors\.
**CAPEX Project Management, Openings, Conversions:**
• Ensure the development of hotel five\-year capital plans and manage scopes of work for maintenance and capital projects\.
• Lead significant CAPEX projects across the region, ensuring alignment with budget, timelines, and strategic goals\.
• Attend regular meetings with VP Ops to advise on capex expenditure submissions\.
• Review projects and ensure operational involvement during pre\-opening stages in coordination with Architecture, Design and Construction \(AD&C\) team\.
• Collaborate with AD&C Project Managers on relevant projects, including follow\-ups on snagging and defect recording following the engineering operations Pre\-Opening journey and processes\.
• Ensure compliance with local regulations, proper maintenance schedules, and defect resolution processes\.
• Oversee documentation and handover processes for new openings and conversions\.
• Attend site and construction meetings as per needs to support smooth transitions\.
**Owner and Stakeholder Relations:**
• Act as the primary point of contact for property owners regarding engineering and asset management matters\.
• Address high\-level technical queries and ensure alignment with owner expectations and corporate strategies\.
• Foster strong relationships with external contractors, suppliers, and regulatory bodies\.
**Team Management:**
• Oversee the performance and development of Chief Engineers as well as Senior Managers and Country Director of Engineers where applicable, and across multiple countries\.
• Promote a culture of mentorship, continuous improvement, and knowledge sharing within the regional engineering team\.
• Ensure the effective implementation of talent development programs, including the Engineering Graduation Programme \(PACE\)\.
**Sustainability and Energy Management:**
• Champion energy conservation and sustainability programs, ensuring alignment with Hilton’s global sustainability goals\.
• Monitor and report on environmental performance metrics, driving improvements in energy efficiency and waste reduction\.
**Emergency Response:**
• Provide regional leadership during emergencies, offering technical expertise and disaster recovery guidance\.
**Planning Activities \(30%\):**
• Collaborates with VP Operations and senior leadership to define regional engineering priorities and align with corporate objectives\.
• Develops five\-year rolling capital plans, focusing on major infrastructure upgrades and sustainability initiatives\.
• Evaluates technical innovations and integrates them into long\-term operational strategies\.
• Plans structured programs to enhance compliance, operational efficiency, and guest satisfaction across the region\.
• Aligns engineering goals with Hilton’s 2030 Travel with Purpose and environmental policies\.
**Organizing Activities \(30%\):**
• Allocates resources effectively to support engineering operations across multiple countries\.
• Establishes frameworks for preventive maintenance and asset management, ensuring regional consistency\.
• Organizes cross\-functional collaboration among hotel teams, corporate departments, and external vendors\.
• Implements centralized procurement strategies to drive cost efficiencies\.
• Collaborates with relevant stakeholders for the execution of hotel openings and conversions to ensure operational readiness\.
**Directing Activities \(15%\):**
• Provides regional leadership to Chief Engineers, Senior Managers and Country Director of Engineers \(where applicable\) to ensure alignment with strategic goals\.
• Directs the execution of major CAPEX projects, ensuring quality, cost control, and timely completion\.
• Engages with owners, developers, and stakeholders to address high\-level engineering and asset management concerns\.
• Oversees the technical audit process and ensures actionable insights are implemented at the property level\.
• Leads discussions on energy conservation, health & safety, and compliance during regular meetings\.
**Staffing Activities \(10%\):**
• Identifies and develops engineering talent within the region, ensuring a robust succession pipeline\.
• Collaborates with hotel HRs and GMS to recruit, onboard, and mentor Senior Managers, Country Directors, and Chief Engineers\.
• Drives the implementation of talent development initiatives, including the Engineering Graduation Programme \(PACE\)\.
• Establishes a mentorship culture to promote knowledge sharing and skill enhancement\.
**Controlling Activities \(15%\):**
• Develops and monitors KPIs to measure operational performance, sustainability outcomes, and compliance\.
• Oversees financial controls for CAPEX and POMEC budgets, ensuring alignment with regional targets\.
• Conducts regular audits to ensure adherence to FLS standards, sustainability metrics, and regulatory requirements\.
• Implements best practices for resource consumption and operational efficiency across the portfolio\.
• Monitors ROI for engineering projects and adjusts strategies to maximize long\-term value\.
**Supportive Function:**
In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the supervisor based upon the requirements of the company\.
• Provide technical support to Senior Director of Engineering and Regional Directors of Engineering
• Provide Operational support to VP Ops/Area GM/Country GM/General Managers for the region\.
• Participate in future openings activities/projects which may not be in within NA&L region\.
• Provide regular and ad\-hoc reports, as required\.
• All other job duties as assigned\.

• Oversight of dotted\-line reporting relationships with property\-level engineering leadership\.

**Required Qualifications**
**To fulfill this role successfully, you must possess the following minimum qualifications and experience:**
• University degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Electromechanical Engineering\.
• Extensive senior managerial experience in multi\-country engineering operations, preferably within the hospitality or facilities management industry\.
• Proven experience leading large teams\.
• Extensive experience in capital planning, project management, and owner relations\.
• Fluency in both English and Arabic is essential\.
• Availability to travel extensively \(up to 50\-75%\) across the region\.
**It would be advantageous in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:**
• Advanced certifications in project management \(e\.g\., PMP\), energy management, or facilities management are preferred\.
• Additional languages \(eg\. French\) would be useful\.
• International work experience with a strong understanding of diverse regulatory environments would be an advantage\.
• Familiarity with Hilton systems, including LightStay and centralized maintenance platforms would be beneficial\.
