Regional Director

Title: Regional Director – Banter by Piercing Pagoda                                         

Reports To: Divisional Vice President

Reporting to this Position: District Managers

Major Responsibilities/Essential Functions:

People: Responsible for the direct supervision, growth and development of district managers within the region. Communicates performance expectations and ensures all team members understand the impact of their performance on company success. Coaches district managers and field team members to address and correct the root cause of operational or team issues. Monitors progress and learning of team members and evaluates performance against standards. Provides leadership, guidance and coaching for all team members through success, opportunities, and skill development. Conducts regular site visits to provide supervision, ensure communication, and to monitor operations and ensure consistency with Company values and business objectives. Assesses region to determine the talent necessary to drive results. Creates and implements action plans to develop or recruit talent and ensure continuous availability of staff needed to meet business objectives.

Leadership: Responsible for identifying trends and growth strategies. Must proactively identify challenges, effectively proposes strategies and execute solutions to respond to business needs. Develops and leads transformation efforts to support business strategies. Directs the operations of a defined region providing leadership, influence, and guidance regarding customer service, performance, and financial management to enable teams to succeed in the organization and to maintain an engaged and productive workforce. Ensures a superior customer experience while maintaining compliance with all applicable regulatory and company requirements and standards. Interprets and implements company policies and procedures and directs and plans the activities of the assigned region to ensure continuing operations, to maximize returns on investments, and to increase productivity.

Collaboration and Teamwork: Collaborates with division vice president and other business partners to develop to implement a regional strategy to maximize region performance and meet business objectives. Develop, implement, and maintain strategic operating plans that reflect the long-term objectives and priorities of the company. Oversee the implementation of regional goals and action plans to ensure compliance with all pertinent regulatory requirements and to achieve company quality standards. Serve as an advisor and subject matter expert to various areas of our business. Interacts with all levels of the organization to manage the business. Serve as a brand ambassador. Demonstrate a passion for caring as evidence by interactions with team members, guests, families, vendors, and business partners. Communicates directly with departmental representatives within the Store Support Center to provide feedback, make recommendations, ask and answer questions, foster an environment of open communication and accomplish shared objectives. Build mutual trust and foster collaboration among business peers and partners

Performance: Promote and reinforce corporate expectations for brand, culture, and performance. Sets actionable goals for self and others that for short term and long term success. Visits stores to validate understanding and application of procedures, initiatives, and policies against brand image and expectations. Collaborates with DMs to ensure consistency while addressing unique district needs. Supports and communicates the strategic relevance of corporate initiatives. Provides oversight of all privacy and security aspects and issues and practices risk management strategies.  Participate in the resolution of customer and team member complains and T.I.P.S. calls and collaborates with internal legal counsel as appropriate to resolve legal and litigation issues with goal of reducing expenses for the company. Prepares and maintains regional budget and capital requirements with guidance and direction from the divisional vice president. Closely monitor the operating and financial results against plans and budgets. Accountable for driving staffing and all pertinent business initiatives, including prompt implementation of action plans to correct performance. Implement successful strategies regarding labor, occupancy, expenses, and quality of services.

Strategy and Innovation: Be a strategic influence in the growth and development of our organization through thought leadership, urgency in responsiveness, urgency of appropriate action, demonstrating respect and compassion and conducting oneself with the highest degree of honesty and integrity in every interaction. Provide quality input into the sales, profit, and capital budget planning processes. Forecasts trends and opportunities, identifies competitive threats and available resources to plan effective strategies and develop actions plans by using all reporting resources. Implements initiatives that will change behaviors to produce results. Translates corporate direction into action plans that will optimize resources and produce desired results. Participates in development and management of appropriate tools to evaluate and track customer satisfaction and report key performance measurements for each business unit in the region.

Performs additional duties and projects as assigned.

Consistent regular scheduled attendance is considered an essential function of this job.

Position Qualifications:

Education Required: Bachelor’s Degree required or comparable job experience. Advanced Degree preferred

Required or Acceptable Job-Related Experience: Experience overseeing the work of multiple groups and projects, Demonstrated experience managing one or more departments. Demonstrated practice of continuous quality improvement and relationship development. Documented success in exceeding business financial goals. Demonstrated exceptional communication and customer service skills. Work independently but also have a strong commitment to be a team player. Demonstrated analytical sense with excellent attention to detail. Demonstrated success in advancing and growing businesses. Experience interacting with all levels of the business. Experience managing to a budget.

Years of Job-Related Experience Required: At least 10 years relevant experience. Multi-site business operations experience. Must have recent 2+ years’ experience managing a regional or multisite team. Or be a current Vice President of Operations with at least 2+ years’ experience. Minimum 5-10 years’ operations management experience leading department of 5+ employees including hiring, developing, motivating, and directing people as they work.

Technical/Other Skills Required: Demonstrated ability to provide strategic oversight to a high functioning Region. Demonstrated ability to win work and complete projects profitably. Demonstrated ability to prepare, execute, and achieve strategic business development plans. Excellent written, oral, interpersonal communication and technical/computer skills. Strong safety focus and work ethic. Ability to work in a team environment across multiple locations within the organization. Excellent Project management experience. Must be results-oriented with strong initiative. Background using logic and reasoning to understand, analyze, and evaluate a variety of situations and research information to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to the situation. Managing high priority pursuits and projects. Strong analytical and judgement capabilities. Analytical skill set, with the ability to identify complete reporting and key function data tracking as well as use this data for performance analysis and predictive / forecasting. Executive presence with experience engaging senior level leadership, customers and team member. Must be computer literate, excellent working knowledge of all pertinent software including Microsoft Office. Position requires travel up to 50% of the time for business purposes. Flexibility. On call 24 hours a day, seven days a week. A flexible working style and an ability to work independently and with teams. Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality. Familiar with pertinent software applications such as Reflexis and Workday preferred

Additional Language(s) Required: Bilingual skills are a plus.
