Regional Compliance Analyst

Purpose

The Regional Compliance Analyst will support the regional compliance function by assisting in the implementation of compliance programs and monitoring regulatory requirements across the Asia region. This role is essential for ensuring adherence to both local and regional policies in the insurance industry, providing an opportunity to develop compliance expertise while contributing to a culture of integrity and accountability.

Responsibilities

Regulatory Monitoring:

Tracking and analyzing regulatory developments affecting the insurance industry in various jurisdictions across the Asia region. Support the maintenance and organization of regulatory documentation to ensure it is current and complies with applicable local and regional laws.

Compliance Program Support:

Assist in implementing global and regional compliance policies and procedures under the guidance of senior compliance officers. Participate in regional compliance risk assessments and support audit processes specific to the Asia region.

Training and Awareness:

Assist in the development and delivery of compliance training materials and sessions tailored to regional needs for employees across the Asia region. Support initiatives to enhance awareness of compliance practices within the organization.

Monitoring and Reporting:

Prepare compliance reports and presentations for internal stakeholders, emphasizing regional compliance metrics and findings. Support the Compliance Assurance Review (CAR) process with the CAR program administration, reviewing reports, trend analysis and monitoring action plans for remediation.

Advisory Support:

Provide support to business units on region-specific compliance-related inquiries and issues, escalating matters as necessary. Assist in gathering information for regulatory inquiries and audits conducted within the Asia region.

Third-Party Compliance:

Support the compliance review process of third-party vendors and partners in the Asia region in collaboration with senior team members. Maintain records related to third-party compliance assessments relevant to regional operations.

Financial Crime Compliance:

Review and handle financial crime requests for the Asia region, including sanctions and anti-bribery concerns, escalating recommendations for approval to senior compliance personnel. Oversee sanctions and Politically Exposed Persons (PEPs) screening, managing SDN potential match cases and escalating as needed. Create procedural and training documentation on financial crime areas to assist in-country compliance officers.

Stay Informed on Regulatory Developments:

Research and track regulatory developments and compliance trends in the insurance industry within the Asia region to support compliance control enhancements. Evaluate the implications of regulatory changes to ensure organizational compliance and proactively address potential challenges.

Compliance Approval Process Support:

Act as the first point of contact for Laser approval requests, namely business gifts & entertainment, anti-bribery, travel and lodging requests, reviewing, and recommending responses to senior compliance personnel.

Additional Regional Compliance Tasks:

Assist in the update and maintenance of the Asia Regional Compliance page on The Village, focusing on financial crimes policies and procedures. Support other regional compliance tasks as requested by Regional Compliance team members. 3-5 years of experience in compliance, risk management, internal audit, law firm or a related field within the insurance or financial services industry. Previous working experience with financial crime, data privacy, cross border business and other regulatory compliance matters. Experience working with a multinational company is preferred. Bachelor’s degree in law, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
