Regional Chief Technical Officer

The Regional Chief Technology Officer (CTO) is responsible for leading the strategic direction, planning, and execution of technology initiatives across both mobile and fixed-line telecoms operations in the region.

Leadership of the Technical department for the Atlantic region including local operations in Bermuda, Cayman Islands, Turks and Caicos and British Virgin Islands. Work closely with the Digicel Group technology teams and Centre of Excellence teams to align regional technology strategies with global initiatives and standards. Ensure the future planning of the regional network is done in the most economical and timely basis, in line with the growth forecast of the customer base. Support negotiations with telecommunications vendors for the economic purchase; delivery and implementation of infrastructure; equipment & services to future proof the Digicel Network. Support the budgeting process in terms of defining, owning and forecasting of CAPEX and OPEX for the region in line with business directives. Ensure the development of the Digicel Fibre, Copper and Mobile Networks to support new business opportunities and increase the revenue streams for the business.

Main Responsibilities:

Define, Review and approve regional market budgets (technical CAPEX & OPEX) Provide input to organisational development initiatives. Provide strategic technical input for broader technical organisation. Support negotiations with Telecommunications Equipment Vendors. Define and Implement key operational processes to manage networks services post acceptance of any rollout. Support Capex and Opex budget preparation for annual investment strategy and ongoing maintenance of existing infrastructure across markets. Manage vendor relationships. Manage direct reports both locally and regionally. Liaise with government/regulatory agencies/authorities. Review reports and produce board presentations. Approve network planned works. Management of direct reports and indirect support teams. Provide technical advice to other departments. Evaluate Network and Service KPIs & determine appropriate action to improve service level. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, security protocols, and industry standards. Build and lead a high-performing technology team across multiple markets within the region.

Qualifications and experience:

Engineering/Science/Technical/Computer Degree. Management Diploma/Degree. Senior Telecommunications Management Experience (10 years). Commercial intelligence. Excellent Communication and presentation Skills. Good Leadership and interpersonal skills.
