Refrigeration Mechanic FACILITY SERVICES (Billings Clinic Main Campus) req9244 Shift: Varies Employment Status: Full-Time (.75 or greater) Hours per Pay Period: 1.00 = 80 hours (Non-Exempt) Starting Wage:$29.08 -36.34 Refrigeration Mechanic is responsible for coordinating installation of refrigeration equipment on Billings Clinic Campuses. Installation and service of HVAC DD Control systems. Provide services related to installation, operation and maintenance of Refrigeration equipment, air handlers, cooling towers, ice machines, refrigerators, freezers, other direct expansion refrigerant devices, boilers, and Johnson Control Metasys. Diagnoses problems and troubleshoots. Performs preventative maintenance, repairs and orders parts and supplies. Essential Job Functions • Supports and models behaviors consistent with Billings Clinic’s mission, vision, values, code of business conduct and service expectations. Meets all mandatory organizational and departmental requirements. Maintains competency in all organizational, departmental and outside agency standards as it relates to the environment, employee, patient safety or job performance. • Assists and supports Facility Services Leadership in coordinating the day-to-day operational needs and prioritizes work orders and preventive maintenance schedules to meet daily demands to insure timely completion of work. Provides oversight for quality and efficiency of work through preventive maintenance, work order, and “Q” follow Up and Inspections. • Provides first line support to the maintenance staff, assisting with professional and technical job related issues, resolution of problems, issues or concerns that may arise from questions received from the staff while focusing on work quality and efficiency. Responsible for timely response to staff requests for assistance due to increased or high volumes. • Provides mentoring and technical assistance to Maintenance Staff, Electrical Installers and System Designers. Ensures that delegated tasks are done accurately and on-time. • Provides work direction to subcontractors, electrical installers, technicians, designers and administration as necessary. • Validates complete system functionality and resolves issues with subcontractors and others to ensure proper operation. • Participates in the selection, budget and delivery schedule of material to be procured for the projects assigned. • Secures pricing and availability form outside vendors and suppliers, mechanical and electrical subcontractors including scope, terms and conditions. May request several bids in pricing process. • Develops project plans and coordinates the required resources to ensure timely and cost effective installation and completion of assigned projects. • Member of the emergency response and disaster team. • Assists in ensuring compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards. • Performs other duties as assigned or as needed to meet the needs of the department/organization. Minimum Qualifications Education • Associates Degree in Refrigeration, HVAC Technology or related field Experience • Five (5) or more years of installation of refrigeration piping, equipment and troubleshooting or related work experience • Five (5) or more years of progressively more responsible related work experience necessary in order to gain knowledge of equipment repair and to be able to troubleshoot and diagnose a wide variety of mechanical equipment and machinery problems • Five (5) years of progressively more responsible Billings Clinic maintenance experience • Universal Refrigeration Certifications and Licenses • Ability to obtain National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET) Level II certification within 2 years of hire • Ability to obtain Current Montana 3rd class Boiler License Certificate within 18 months of hire Or an equivalent combination of education and experience relating to the above tasks, knowledge, skills and abilities will be considered. Employees that require a licensed or certification must be properly licensed/certified and the licensure/certification must be in good standing.
