POSITION SUMMARY:

Join the Refining Environmental team as an integral team member to help ensure continuous compliance with Environmental regulations.  A successful Environmental Compliance Processor (ECP) will support Environmental Department staff at MPC’s refineries and renewable fuels facilities by compiling and summarizing emissions data for internal and external use. The ECP must be an independent worker and critical thinker. 

Annually, the ECP is responsible for preparing annual emission reports for the facilities they support specific to the Federal and State regulations and permit conditions. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Gather and validate data to ensure accuracy and permit compliance. Identify and investigate trends and anomalies. Revising emission calculations as needed to reflect site-level operational or permit changes.Ensuring emission calculation basis and assumptions are representative and documented.Working with site staff to compile and ensure accuracy of input data used for emission calculations (e.g. process data, lab data, source test data, analyzer data, throughput data, releases, chemical usage, waste shipments, etc).Providing emission calculation support for air permitting efforts.Complete agency specific reports utilizing Federal, State and Local agencies’ on-line reporting tools. Maintain access to on-line tools for the team.  Serve as administrator to multiple on-line reporting systems.Maintain the electronic record management system to document Federal, State and Local environmental compliance. Ensure records are legible and easily accessible to management and operations in the event of a government inspection.Facilitate permit compliance through the on-line task management system to track regulatory due dates and permit limit compliance with actual facility data. Maintaining air emission calculations on an ongoing basis for stationary combustion sources, tanks, terminal and loading racks, accidental releases, wastewater, and equipment fugitive emissions.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

High School Diploma or equivalent is required.College Degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Computer Science, and Engineering preferred.Minimum 2 years of experience in related field, such as Environmental, Data Science, Data Analysis, Finance, Banking, and Healthcare is required.Must be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.Demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate, communicate, and be customer focused.A desire and aptitude for analyzing large amounts of data with attention to detail and accuracy.An aptitude and desire to learn new software applications.Travel = 0-5%
