Position Summary
The Red Shield Coordinator will participate in the leadership, planning, and visioning for The Salvation Army East County Red Shield and Corps Community Center. They will be involved in managing and supervising employees, including HR tasks as assigned. They will oversee rental groups, member services, and the scheduling of the facility, including the processing of rental agreements, insurance memberships, and special events. They will take an active role in monitoring the property and coordinating routine and emergency property repairs and maintenance. They will be responsible for both accounts receivable and payable for the Red Shield and it’s programs. In addition the regular year round programs and events, the Red Shield Coordinator will also participate and/or lead various special events and programs as assigned by the Corps Officer including but not limited to Adopt-a-Family, Back to School Shopping, and Pickleball Social competitions.
Essential Functions
Supervise and manage Red Shield employees including scheduling and performing necessary HR duties. Assist in program management and successful operations in the Corps, Red Shield, and seasonal operation departments. Driving for various events and throughout the course of work such as taking income to the bank, driving vehicles for maintenance, and other similar tasks. Assist in program management and successful operations including but not limited to Business matters affecting and relating directly to assigned corps, maintaining fiscal integrity of the assigned corps (including complete and proper record keeping and security), and ensuring high standards of stewardship for funds, property, and resources. Assist in the management of insurance claims for the property and/or personnel. Assist in seasonal operations such as Toy Drives and Angel Tree, including Christmas sign-ups, and other holiday events such as Harvest Festival, and other holidays or special events, as directed and as needed. Maintain proper records, (including statistical, financial, and all others required) Maintain good public relations, function in harmony with The Salvation Army guidelines, promote, direct, and support special events and activities for assigned Corps. Supervise volunteers in the process of executing the mission of The Salvation Army. Must have intermediate computer knowledge including typing, Excel, and Word. Data Entry including but not limited to Gift-in-Kind, Stats, and Corps Management, and Kroc Management. Answering the telephone, making phone calls, answering the door when available to do so, and interacting with clients needing services. Good communication skills are a must. Assist in Fundraising activities including but not limited to fundraising efforts for the successful operation of the El Cajon Corps, as needed. Assist in social services programs such as food distribution, homeless services,, and other social services programs as needed. Must be in good physical and mental health, capable of meeting program demands. Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on a continuous or intermittent basis. Ability to grasp, push, pull objects such as files, filing cabinet drawers, and reach overhead. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Must successfully complete The Salvation Army’s driver safety program before driving and will be required to recertify annually as required. Must meet certification by and participation in The Salvation Army’s Fleet Safety Program. Ability to walk, stand, bend squat climb, kneel and twist on an intermittent or sometimes continuous basis. Ability to be able to lift up to 50lbs. Ability to grasp, push, pull objects such as file cabinet drawers and reach overhead. Ability to operate computer, fax copy machine and telephone.
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum High School Diploma or GED equivalent. Additional Education helpful. Intermediate computer knowledge and typing skills, including Word, Publisher, and Excel. Must pass a criminal background check and complete all Protecting the Mission trainings. Must have and maintain a valid Class B California Driver’s License.Skills, Knowledge & Abilities

Ability and willingness to keep information confidential. Ability to learn and function in a fast paced and evolving workspace. Ability to cope with and perform in stressful conditions. Ability to work flexible hours including some weekends and evenings.
