JOB SUMMARY:
The Recreation Supervisor position is an integral part of the camper's visit, providing an experience beyond all expectations by fostering enthusiasm, creativity and fun. You will execute and support all aspects of recreation including overall programming, appropriate use of facilities, repair/maintenance, and staff/camper schedules. The goal is to ensure high-level entertainment during each activity, and make sure staff and participants are engaged and participating in a responsible and safe manner.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage Woodward safety logs, operational sheets, and incident reports Assist in managing guest sign-ups and schedules for activities Ensure all supplies and equipment are properly inventoried and available for use Train and develop staff to ensure safety and guest experience standards meet Woodward’s expectations Develop and communicate staff schedulesPERSONAL ATTRIBUTES:
Ability to remain calm under pressure and meet deadlines
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with moderate supervision, agile, and able to pivot quickly
Exhibits initiative, responsibility, and accountability
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE/SPECIAL SKILLS:
3+ years of experience working in recreation or programming
1+ years of experience working with kids and/or teens
Experience working in a camp environment is preferred
Ability to collaborate well across functions and departments, to work as part of a team
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILTIES:
+/- 20 employees
BASIC SCHEDULE/REQUIREMENTS:
As a requirement of this position, pre-hire criminal history clearances are collected from the Pennsylvania State Police (PATCH) system, child abuse clearances are obtained through the Department of Public Welfare, and federal history is taken through FBI fingerprint screening.
Physical Capabilities: bend, twist, push, pull, stand, lift 50 lbs.
Must be comfortable working in an outdoor and indoor all-season environment.
Preferred 6-to-12-week commitment within summer camp season
