Holidays worked include Memorial Day, the Fourth of July, and Labor Day. The applicant selected will have a wide variety of duties to support the park manager in all aspects of park operations. This includes cleaning bathrooms, leading interpretive programs, managing a gift shop, plowing snow, and employee direction. Another state park is managed out of the Lone Pine office. The selected applicant can expect to work in inclement weather and carry loads of 50 lbs. over uneven terrain. Applicant must have a valid driver's license. This is a seasonal position, working Wednesday-Sunday or Thursday- Monday depending on the time of year. Shift begins at l 0:00 am. The selected applicant will report to Lone Pine State Park, which overlooks the City of Kalispell. Lone Pine is a 279-acre park with 7.5 miles of trails, a year-round visitor center, and archery trail. Kalispell, Montana is the largest city in the Flathead Valley. There are numerous activities for those who love to recreate outdoors, participate in sports, or enjoy the arts. This position requires work in the elements, but mild winters and warm summers make adjusting to a different climate easy for most. This is one of the most popular tourist areas in Montana with convenient access to two ski resorts, Flathead Lake, and Glacier National Park. *Job Duties*: Conducts park maintenance, fee collection, assists with reservation program, staff visitor center, presents and interpretive programs and, manage the visitor center gift shop, and provides visitor service for Lone Pine and Lake Mary Ronan State Parks, Fishing Access Sites (FAS) and Wildlife Management Areas - transportation provided. The knowledge, skills, and abilities of this position are normally attained through a combination of education and experience equivalent to a bachelor's degree in park and or recreation management, archeology, geology, or related fields.
