Summary This position is assigned to the Non-Appropriated Fund (NAF) Fitness, Sports, and Deployed Support Branch; Fleet Readiness; Commander, Navy Installations command (CNIC); Naval Base Everett. Incumbent provides lifeguard duties; is responsible for safeguarding the lives of persons at the assigned work area; assists with Aquatic training, education, and general support at the installation. *Bi-weekly review of applicants beginning January 24, 2025* Responsibilities Performs rescue work, promptly renders CPR or emergency first aid and calls for medical assistance as necessary Supervises swimmers for safety and crowd control Enforces safety and pool regulations Promptly reports safety hazards to supervisor Responsible for the cleanliness of the buildings and grounds in the pool area Responsible for testing chemical levels Provides instruction to youth and adults in incremental swim lessons/lifeguarding/CPR courses May assist with scheduled pool parties, after hours of operation or with base wide special events Schedule includes evenings and weekends Indoor heated facility Other duties as assigned Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Must be a responsible individual with a pleasant, courteous attitude who can communicate effectively with the public. A neat and clean appearance required. Incumbent will need to quickly acquire a basic knowledge of the rules and practices of the equipment used. Must meet Federal Employment suitability requirements and successful completion of background investigation. Must be at least 16 years old. Must be able to pass a 250-yard timed swim test. Must be able to communicate orally and in writing. Current Lifeguard Certification from an accredited organization. Current CPR and First Aid Certification from an accredited organization. Education Additional Information *Bi-weekly review of applicants beginning January 24, 2025* Salary is dependent on experience and/or education. Some positions have special requirements. Selectee may be required to complete a one (1) year probationary period. Participation in Direct Deposit/Electronic Fund Transfer within the first 30 days of employment is required.
