We are currently looking for a Recovery Technician to join our Fraud & Recovery team in Helsinki or Stockholm (for the right candidate, Oslo may also be an option). You will be part of a brilliant Nordic Fraud & Recovery team, providing excellent service to our customers and internal stakeholders. You will have the possibility to build strong relationships within the insurance market and further develop your professional skills in an encouraging environment. As a Recovery Technician, you will be reporting to the Nordic Fraud and Recovery Manager.
You will have a variety of important responsibilities including:
Handling our Recoveries portfolio of claims in Nordics to efficiently and cost-effectively; negotiate and accurately recover claims costs. The role will ensure mitigation of exposure while communicating developments and outcomes as necessary to all key internal and external stakeholders whilst providing a high standard of customer service and adherence to legal and regulatory requirements.
Identifies and pursues opportunities for recovery/subrogation/salvage across multiple lines of business.
Review assigned claim files to determine if recovery is feasible by investigating and evaluating liability issues according to Best Practice/Procedural guidelines.
Does recovery of deductibles and VAT from AIG clients.
Corresponds with appropriate parties (experts, attorney’s, claims professionals) in accordance with established procedures regarding claim information, notice/demand of payment and related issues.
Develop great working relationship with all stakeholders.
Is responsible for setting adequate reserves reflecting the expected recovery proceeds.
Is responsible for adequately book and record recovery transactions and documentation in the various financial and other systems.
Is responsible that recovery money received is booked timely.
Is responsible for monitoring progress on files handled by claims handlers.
Is responsible for following up reports and other recovery related information.
What we’re looking for:
A few years of experience in recoveries or claims handling.
Native level of Finnish language,
At least basic level Swedish (advance level will be an advantage) and English language proficiency
Proactive team player with excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work with stakeholders to effectively direct recovery strategy.
Strong analytical problem solving and communications skills both verbal and written.
Strive for continuous improvement on claim file handling with feedback and support through the Quality Assurance Review processes.
Effective time management skills.
Ability to work to tight deadlines when necessary.
College degree preferred.
PC skills and experience with various database systems an advantage.
