Position Summary
POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for reviewing and analyzing in-house charge off and deceased member portfolios. Completing contact attempts on in-house charge off portfolio with the goal of recovering the balance owed to the credit Union. On deceased member accounts, this role is responsible for timely communication and attempts with next of kin or estate executor. Efforts will include, but not be limited to extensive telephone, written and person to person communication on the collection of past due, overdrawn, charged off and legal reserve accounts.

Pay range for this hourly position is $33.31 - $38.94/hr with a progressive benefits package.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs essential duties and responsibilities in the following areas which may include but are not limited to those listed and are subject to change.
+ Adheres to the Credit Union's core values and Service Standards in conducting GreenState's mission and vision.
+ Demonstrates a positive member service (internal and external) focus at all times.
+ Demonstrates teamwork in all interactions with coworkers and in the completion of all duties and responsibilities.
+ Ensures confidentiality of member information.
+ Supports a diverse and inclusive work environment.
+ Makes collection contacts to legal and/or recovery accounts as well as accounts where member is deceased and performs any tasks or duties to aid in collection of past due, charged off or overdrawn accounts.
+ Performs legal, factual, and records research as well as extensive skip tracing.
+ Makes decisions on and possesses the approval authority to negotiate settlements within delegated operational areas and manages post charge-off recovery.
+ Provides monthly performance metrics for the in-house recovery portfolio.
+ Represents the credit union as a witness in litigation proceedings on externally placed legal account which may require travel.
+ Processes deceased member accounts including review for estate, initiation of probate claim process, sending death cure, and then initiates foreclosure and repossession processes when necessary. Handles all communication with estate attorney, executor or other authorized parties.
+ Plays a vital role in enriching the community by participating in community service organizations and/or Credit Union sponsored events on an annual basis.
+ Performs any other duties as may be required to meet Credit Union objective.
Job Requirements/Expectations
+ High school diploma or GED.
+ Three to five years of collections and legal experience with reasonable knowledge of collection practices, consumer credit, real estate and bankruptcy laws and regulations.
+ Working knowledge of legal principles, practices, terminology, and research techniques.
+ Strong analytical and critical thinking skills along with attention to detail and accuracy.
+ Reports to work punctually, works all scheduled hours, and works overtime as necessitated by business demand. Job may require a non-traditional workweek with extra hours including evening and/or weekend duties.
+ Strong interpersonal and persuasive skills to represent the Credit Union in a positive way during periods of stressful member contact and gather data from several sources.
+ Ability to work independently, prioritize assignments, and organize work efficiently to manage large volumes of details.
+ Accuracy and attention to detail required.
+ Proficiency with related computer applications, spreadsheets, word processing, and database applications.
+ Must be bondable.
Reporting Relationship
Reports to the Account Resolution Supervisor.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position is not responsible for the supervision of others.
