Recovery Coach
Cornell Scott-Hill Health is seeking a Full-Time Recovery Coach. The Peer Recovery Specialist/Coach will provide recovery coaching and mentoring for clients. He/She/They will provide linkages to social service supports, in-community 12 Step programs, and harm-reduction workshops/education that will help clients maintain recovery. The Peer Recovery Coach has demonstrated motivation to use his/hers/ their experiences to help inspire those still struggling through sharing their stories and providing supportive activities. Attends outreach events to represent department and develop community connections. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: + Accompanies clients to appointments and meetings as required to ensure seamless connection and to avoid premature drop-out + Provides office support and welcomes clients as they enter treatment + Works to improve client retention at the onset of engagement + Maintains client confidentiality at all times and follows agency, state, and HIPAA laws + Establishes and maintains good working relationships with community agencies + Attends and participates in team conferences, as required + Ensures required documentation is complete, timely, and accurate + Attends outreach events as directed (weekends, as scheduled, 1-2 x monthly) + Data entry may be required + Performs all other duties as required Requirements: + Completion of Peer or Recovery Coach training program (or equivalent). + High School Diploma / G.E.D OR must be in pursuit of through Adult Education or other avenues. + Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred. + Self-identified person in recovery who has maintained sobriety for a minimum of two years. + Extensive knowledge of recovery-based supports, both traditional and non-traditional, and ability to integrate these resources into treatment. + Unbiased, working knowledge of methadone and other MATs as tools to support recovery. K nowledge working with LGBTQ+ community and resources. + Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. + Ability to work with an interdisciplinary team. + Knowledge and skills related to individual, group, and family system dynamics. + Must have a valid Connecticut driver’s license and daily access to a car in order to attend meetings/ outreach events.
