Contract Duration: One (1) Year: January 2025 to February 2026
 

 

Job purpose:

Manages the recording and reporting of accounting transactions in compliance with current legislation and IFRS in order to provide reliable and timely information necessary for the management of the company and to fulfill all legal obligations towards public authorities. Also responsible for ensuring operational delivery according to the company’s standards and strategy as well as drive process improvements.

 

Key roles & responsibilities:

Manage, co-ordinate and control all transactional accounting and management reporting outcomes, whether activity is delivered from the Mexico Shared Services and managed by SLAs, or delivered by employees directly within Jamaica. Plan, coordinate and control each monthly, quarterly and annual period end close, as well as the elaboration and reporting of accounting information both internally and externally. Safeguard the quality of balance sheet accounts reconciliation process by maintaining effective governance in place. Coordinate and control the preparation of the balance sheet account review report with the aim of supporting the organisation’s performance analysis and decision-making. Oversee the reconciliation and accuracy of the company’s retail outlet (214 Exchange). Maintains proper audit trail and documentation, ensures SOPs are prepared and updated, and ensures service delivery is within the agreed SLAs and KPIs. Monitors controlling datasets by tracking activity, resolving problems, ensuring data consistency and recommending actions.

 

Qualifications and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Banking, Finance, Business Administration or similar field, or the equivalent qualified by experience Professional certification: ACCA or equivalent qualification would be an asset Minimum 3-years relevant experience Experience or thorough understanding in Financial accounting Experience with preparing financial reports Ability to build strong partnerships with stakeholders internally and externally, strategic thinking and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
