GENERAL DESCRIPTION / PRIMARY PURPOSE:

Responsible for general warehouse duties to include loading, unloading, moving, locating, relocating, stacking, and counting materials in a safe manner.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS/DUTIES OF THE POSITION:

Inspect arriving trailers for possible contaminants Receive material coming into the building by vendors, customers, or other warehouses accurately and promptly Verify the quantity and description of materials received by checking merchandise against the packing list Examine incoming shipments, reject damaged items. Appropriately report/record any discrepancies. Accurately place materials on shelves, in racks or other designated storage areas in a safe and orderly manner. Attach identifying tag or labels to materials or marks information on cases, bales, or other containers. Assemble and fill orders to be shipped to customers. Preparation of all shipping documentation. Review all orders to determine if they were picked correctly. Safely operate all the necessary equipment in work area. This includes pallet jacks, shrink wrapper, and scales. Check that the trailer’s outside seal is not broken and that the temperature is within spec. Complete required paperwork Unload trailers, weigh loads, and rotate materials according to FIFO Supply materials and packaging to production areas as required Be attentive to any foreign objects and damage to boxes or contents Any and all other duties assigned by your Supervisor
