Job Title: Real Estate Project Manager
Description:
The Facilities Project Manager will be responsible for planning, management, coordination, financial control and delivery to programme of Real Estate and Facilities projects.
Key responsibilities:
Undertaking space management, modernisation and usage reviews.Developing the spatial requirements and facilities needed to efficiently and sustainably support each business function within the company including the safety and wellbeing of staff and service users.Reviewing the capacity, capability and efficiently of each location in supporting the defined business functions.Develop clear Project Briefs with assistance from Stakeholders in order to present clearly defined aims and project objectives.Ensure that “gate” reviews are undertaken if required, and quality assurance of any documentation submitted.Produce Project Execution Plans complete with Risk Management Plan.Manage and influence stakeholder groups ensuring the delivery of high value, complex projects in terms of scope, schedule, cost and effective project delivery.Ensuring appropriate compliance with all health and safety, risk management, internal policy and security recommendations which apply to the project.Ensure solutions are delivered within established timescales and in line with budget.Monitor report and escalate project issues, risks, changes and progress to project stakeholders.Lead the development of practical and cost effective engineering designs. Initiate enquiries with vendors, evaluate proposals and prepare accurate and realistic budget estimates and milestone project programmes.Support tender process and supplier/contractor selection.Organise testing, commissioning and validation of new facilities and equipment, assuring quality assurance, legislative compliance, environmental, health and safety factors.Manage external consultants, engineers and contractors during the project execution phase, ensuring all work carried out by them is within the requirements of the overall project remit.Provide technical support for maintenance personnel on a day to day basis.The main duties and responsibilities reflect the main elements of those associated with this position. Essential Criteria:
Degree or equivalent in relevant engineering discipline (Mechanical/Electrical/Building Services/Civil).Minimum of 5 years' experience of project delivery within a manufacturing environment/highly regulated environment - full life-cycle and budget responsibility.Extensive experience of project delivery through a comprehensive project management process.Proficiency of program reporting and management using Project Management software.Recognised H&S certification (IOSH/NEBOSH) with experience in Construction Design Management (CDM).Experience of managing Real Estate / Facilities projects; installation/commissioning/qualification of systems/equipment/laboratories/buildings/training and handover.Strong analytical/problem solving skills.Strong presentation skills.Applicants must have a valid driving licence and a car available for official business use, or access to a form of personal transport that will enable them to meet the requirements of the post in full.Willing & able to travel within the UK to other sites when required.IT literate, specifically in the use of the Microsoft Office suite (including MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Excel and MS Outlook).Desirable Criteria:
Chartered Membership of a relevant institute such as:Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS)Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB)Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA)Chartered Institute of Building Services Engineers Institution of Fire Engineers (CIBSE)Institute of Civil Engineers (ICE)Chartered membership of other Construction related Professional Bodies will also be considered.
Evidence of Continuing Professional Development in construction related areas, especially project management and contract administration.Experience of Computer Aided Design (CAD) software such as AutoCAD and Revit and/or Computer Aided Facilities Management (CAFM) software.#LI-JB1
