Primary Purpose:

The primary purpose of this position is to be versatile to operate each position within the RDS work cell. This includes but is not limited to: safety, moderate to technical machine maintenance, quality of work, productivity requirements and material handling. For this employee to be successful they must be able to troubleshoot, multi-task, manage high speed production, communication effectively, and be hands on.                             ______________________________________________________________________________

Job Duties:

Level 3

Committed to the safety of others and addressing issues or concerns immediately.Ability to multi-task in an efficient manner.Know all the safety features of the substrate assembler machine and glue assembly gun and roller as well as the metal dam assembling machineGood attendance.Be able to safely operate the laser and foam assembly and roller machineComplete understanding and ability to efficiently run all positions in the RDS cell.Rotate and work in other areas of the plant as business necessitates.Consistently meet and improve run ratesMaintain a clean work area.

Great attendance..Full working knowledge of all stop set-ups and changeoversAssist with coordinates and oversees all training of new and inexperienced employees.Ability to cross work in Alumawood, ZAC and Options areas

Level 5

Complete understanding and ability to efficiently run all positions in the RDS cellGood communication skills in-person, over the radio, over the phone and via emailComplete understanding for the Spec Data base and how to read a Spec.Complete understanding of QAD to look up inventories, run schedules, product structures etc.Total working knowledge of the foam machine set upAbility to accurately manage a wide variety of sub-finished inventoriesAssists inventory personnel with discrepancies and resolve promptly.

Job Analysis

JOB KNOWLEDGE:   Must have a complete working knowledge of all machines, materials and processes for RDS.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:   Approximately 12 months of work experience is required to become skilled in all phases of the job.  Must be capable of reading a tape measure and calipers. Must have knowledge to use a computer to send/receive e-mails, look up inventories, run build schedules and spec sheets. Must be capable of handling conflict; machine related or employee.   

INITIATIVE & INGENUITY:  Work priorities are determined by updated production build list/cut list or supervisor instructions.  The operator should quality check the raw materials frequently.  Be capable of working with limited supervision while following verbal and written instructions.

PHYSICAL EFFORT:  Flow of work and character of duties involve performing repetitive hand motions and capable of standing and walking for the entire shift. Normal and corrected hearing and vision are necessary with manual coordination.   Some walking, bending, twisting, stooping and lifting of up to approximately 30 lbs are required.  Must have good hand eye coordination and be mechanically adaptable to using hand tools.

RESPONSIBILITY FOR EQUIPMENT: This position will be responsible for reporting any issues with all equipment in the department.  Damage to this equipment would result in as significant loss for the company. 

WORKING CONDITIONS/HAZARDS: Exposed to normal factory environment (wood dust and aluminum) with no factors or hazards present to a disagreeable extent. Must be able to with stand heat up to 95 degrees.

SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES: Must adhere to all safety rules and regulations as specified in the Endura’s Safety Manuel.   This responsibility necessitates wearing of proper personal protective equipment (i.e. safety glasses & ear plugs) by each crewmember on the line.  Report any safety violations immediately to supervision.
