Raw Material Handler

POSITION SUMMARY We are currently seeking a Raw Materials Handler. The Handler is responsible for performing Shipping, Receiving, Delivery and Inventory daily departmental activities. This position is also responsible for all aspects of assisting the production operations. In all actions, supports LMI’s Quality Policy, Mission Statement and other LMI policies and procedures by supporting our commitment to total customer satisfaction, quality products and services, lean processes, continuous improvement, on-time delivery, safety, teaming, individual accountability and respect for people. ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES + Perform Shipping, Receiving, Delivery and Inventory daily departmental activities + Operation of saw to meet production requirements + Follow all applicable SP’s, QAP’s, and procedures + Load/ Unload trucks using fork truck, pallet jack, and/or hand truck as needed and according to all safety regulations + Unpack crates and boxes, check items for accuracy and damage and document accordingly + If parts are incorrect, defective, or if paperwork is incomplete, place the receipt "on-hold" and follow up with the appropriate LMI plant or vendor to correct + Accurately process all Jobscope system transactions related to Shipping, Receiving, and bin transferring + Assist with production operations as needed; includes roll-forming skin panels + Assist with maintenance of Shipping and Receiving files + Assist with receipt of customer returns per QAP/SP + Monitor and revise weekly I50 report + Assist with production operations as needed + Perform Lean and 6S functions + Assist in investigation / determination of the root cause of errors/issues and implementation of corrective action + Drives delivery truck as needed throughout the day to and from customer site collecting and properly tracking all paperwork and making specified deliveries on time as directed while following all safety and quality standards + Participate in ergonomic exercises + Other duties as assigned EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCES + High school diploma or high school equivalency preferred. Candidates that do not have a high school diploma or high school equivalency will be required to take a pre-employment assessment to be considered for the role. + One to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. + Must be able to complete all job duties and interact with all employees, customers, vendors, and others in a manner consistent with LMI values and principles. + Ability to be trained in and acquire LMI Forklift License, Current Valid Driver's License with no major traffic violations within the previous three years, Excellent Background/ Ability to be issued security clearance for any/all customer delivery sites (includes GAC access badge for on-site delivery) + Demonstrate working knowledge of Database software; Internet software and Spreadsheet software; Must be able to use Outlook; AS400 a plus + Ability to effectively perform various production, material handling, tasks requiring physical strength and dexterity. + Ability to read and interpret basic work order instructions and other drawings to accurately produce and assemble kits. + Ability to operate fork trucks, pallet jacks, and hand trucks. + Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment, with the ability and willingness to learn and complete other tasks as needed. + Excellent organizational skills and the discipline to maintain organizational systems and keep all work areas neat and clean. + Must communicate and interact with all employees, customers, vendors and others in a courteous, professional manner. + Must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with rapidly changing priorities with frequent period of high stress.
