Our team comprises a dynamic, creative and collaborative group of engineers, innovative entrepreneurs and scientists. In this role, you will be working on a team applying a combination of critical thinking, networking, research, and prototyping to propose and assess hundreds of potential technology-enabled projects. The team's mission is to find or invent new opportunities that have a significant reach and global impact We are seeking individuals of varying backgrounds, expertise, and experiences — technical and entrepreneurial — who are motivated to change the world for the better. Early stage moonshot takers focus on rapidly prototyping and de-risking ideas. As an incubator of moonshots, Xers are laser focused on learning and prototyping. We do not build products. Instead we develop the foundations upon which potentially groundbreaking products and business could be built upon. We’re particularly interested in hiring people who have experience in taking ideas from concept stage to pre-product stage. How you will make 10x Impact + Proposing, assessing, and synthesising new X moonshot investigations + Develop and evolve project strategy, including offering definition / roadmap, team priorities, and go-to-market plans. + Perform techno-economic analysis and feasibility analysis + Craft moonshot proposals with technical experts + Lead small technical teams composed of internal or external experts to further the state of the art and build proof of concepts + Develop your Moonshot story and Moonshot pitch. Regularly share and refine your vision over time based on feedback from our Pipeline Leadership team. What you should have: + Completed BA/BS, Masters, and/or PhD or equivalent practical experience. + 10+ years experience playing a key role in the successful development and launch of a deep tech product + Experience building innovative technologies in cross-functional & cross-technology settings + Both startup experience during various stages of the company’s growth (or lifecycle) while also having an understanding around the complexities and nuances of operating within a large corporation + Comfort and experience with ambiguous, early-stage projects. Ability to create and grow ideas into viable businesses from the chaotic ground up + Able to effectively communicate both technical and non-technical information to mixed audiences. + Experience with quantitative and qualitative assessment of trends in technology and society + Demonstrated ability to sell or create external partnerships around early-stage technology + Strong core skill set (e.g., technical, partnership, etc.), with an understanding, experience working with, and respect for other cross-functional organizations. Proven success building and managing cross-functional teams and/or project P&Ls a huge plus It would be great if you also had these: + Ability to dive deeply into a new technical area and build proficiency quickly + Exceptional ability to quickly pick up new technical topics from semiconductor manufacturing to marine biology-- we don’t know what will be in our portfolio next! + Tenacity and sense of urgency; the ability to make things happen quickly; ability to thrive in a fast-paced, fluid and collaborative environment + Broad awareness of global issues and insights into the interactions between societal trends and emerging technologies + 10+ years experience working on breakthrough technologies in a commercial setting + Experience working in varied environments The US base salary range for this full-time position is $149,000 - $236,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
