Rail Coordinator

The Opportunity

 

The Rail Coordinator is Coordinate all rail inbound and outbound for Logistics dept, OCC/DLK, and both the Corrugated & Specialty box plants.  The Rail Coordinator also is responsible for managing the Make & Hold inventory. Will also be responsible to be trained as a backup for the Logistics Coordinator position to cover for vacancies as needed. 

 

How you will Impact WestRock:

Manage daily rail inbound & outbound:Work with Longview Switching yard and their operating system as well as communicate with them via phone calls and emails to schedule railcars in and out of the mill.Determine placement of cars inside the mill for loading based on paper machines run schedules and locations of inventory.Give the train crew their daily work orders based on railcar & track availability, as well as the paper machine run schedules.Monitor the train radio and communicate instructions throughout the day as needed to the train crew.Manage and communicate the blue flag lockouts to the train crew.Log in/out railcars and assign them to customers by CSN in Panther for loader visibility and loading purposes.Fill out rail cull paperwork as loaded and scan/forward to Logistics Coordinator for record keeping.Create, edit, update, and post track schedules out to the loaders twice daily.Use both BN and UP websites as needed to edit/void/manage rail car conditions and orders.Communicate and assist in resolving railcar issues with corporate rail team, customer service/sales, and transportation teams.         Manage Make & Hold & Dedicated Fleet business.Manage all M&H customer releases to the mill.Work with customer service & transportation on M&H customer deliveries, inventory levels and/or closed orders.Check all CSN’s on dedicated daily sheet to ensure product is available for shipment.Manage, edit and update the daily truck dock preload list and send to the docks twice daily.Responsible to be trained as a backup or relief Logistics Coordinator to cover for vacancies as needed.

 

  

What you need to succeed:

 

1-2 years related experience preferredAbility to be flexible and work in a fast-paced environmentStrong troubleshooting and decision-making skillsStrong organizational skills, ability to prioritize, maintain attention to detail and recognize time constraintsStrong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interface effectively and in a professional mannerProficient in Microsoft Office systems

 

Compensation Offered

 

Pay (or pay range): $52,275 – $86,250 DOE (Junior, Intermediate, Senior levels)Bonus Eligible: Annual Incentive Program (AIP) bonus based off metrics

The salary range for this position is $46,125.00 - $76,875.00, depending on your role, level, and location. Your actual pay will be based on your work location and other factors, such as your skills, experience, and education.
