The Medical Biller is responsible for managing patient billing processes, including claim submission, payment collection, and revenue generation. This role involves liaising between healthcare providers, patients, and insurance companies to ensure accurate and streamlined billing operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Claim Processing: Prepare and submit clean claims to insurance companies electronically or on paper.Payment Management: Collect, post, and manage account payments.Patient Interaction: Answer questions from patients, office staff, medical staff, and insurance companies.Issue Resolution: Identify and resolve patient inquiries and concerns.Statement Preparation: Prepare, review, and send patient statements.Collections: Perform collection actions as needed, including contacting patients by phone and handling collection agency inquiries.Compliance: Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA guidelines and regulations.Reporting: Maintain and report statistics as required.Team Collaboration: Participate in education and staff meetings as requested.Qualifications:
Experience: Previous experience in medical billing.Skills: Strong knowledge of medical billing software and procedures, excellent communication skills, and attention to detail.Certifications: Certification in medical billing is preferred but not required.Compliance: Fundamental understanding of compliance guidelines.Ideal Candidate:
