Hexcel is currently seeking a Radio Frequency (RF) Engineer for our Amesbury, MA location.
What you will do:
You will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations in the RF lab that will include direct measurement of transmission and return loss on materials, characterization of complex permittivity and permeability, and performance modelingYou will develop custom test techniques as new materials/applications require, including part-specific fixtures, cavities, and antenna configurationsYou will support the development of next generation RF absorbers by providing RF expertise and guidance during product design and validationYou will help establish appropriate test criteria to verify product performance prior to shipmentYou will develop software tools to support materials testing and development. This will include machine control software to automate data collection as well as data processing and management toolsYou will lead development efforts in future absorber technologies, to include writing white papers to secure funding and providing technical oversight on projects.You will take an active role in our Safety First cultureQualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Physics, Mathematics, Electrical or Computer EngineeringExperience with RF/EMI/EMC test equipment including network analyzers, impedance analyzers, test chambers, waveguides and free-space test methods required. 5-10+ years’ experience preferred. Experience with RF absorbers, preferredFundamental understanding of RF/Microwave concepts such as impedance, conductors, dielectrics, magnetics, inductance, and capacitance.Experience working with EM software tools such as CST, HFSS, ADS preferredDemonstrated oral and written communication skills with all levels of personnelWorks well independently and with others in a team environmentProgramming experience required. Experience with MATLAB, working knowledge of LabView, and the ability to write or update instrumentation control and data acquisition software, preferredApplicant must be capable of obtaining a US Department of Defense security clearance.What you will gain
