Radiation Safety Engineer
Job Requirements
Maintain radiation safety program to assure radiation exposure to plant personnel and members of the public is ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) Provide radiation protection guidance to Health Physics Technicians, Operations, Engineering and other plant personnel as needed Perform engineering evaluations and technical reviews to support radiation safety program Analyze radiation exposure data to calculate individual doses and perform assessments of potential intakes, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements Provide subject matter expertise in regulated areas such as radiological controls and emergency planning Identify and implement improvements to reduce exposure of workers in a manufacturing facilityEducation Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Health Physics, Nuclear Engineering or regulated field required 0-3 years of relevant experienceSpecific Skills Desired
Knowledge of federal and state radiological health regulations and requirements, health physics principles and practices, instrumentation and techniques used to detect and analyze radiation Strong oral and written communication, team building, interpersonal, decision making and computer skills Excellent organizational, analytical and interpersonal skills and teamwork required Certification by the American Board of Health Physics (ABHP) is preferredWhy Westinghouse?
