Major Responsibilities:

Assessment: Demonstrates identified assessment skills.Planning: Plan patient care, utilizing assessment information.Implementation: Implements nursing care in accordance with plan of care, demonstrating skills of appropriate clinical level.Evaluation: Participates in evaluation of effectiveness of nursing interventions, modifies and updates plan of care as required.

Licensure:

Nurse, Registered (RN)

Education/Experience Required:

Graduate from an accredited degree program in nursing (AD or BSN) 4 years clinical experience. (Starting in 2000 a BSN is required for new graduates.)

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:

Clinically appropriate skills. Ability to cooperate and work well with internal and external customers. Communication skills.Current licensure in the State of Illinois as a Registered Nurse

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

Ability to demonstrate a commitment to patient focused care. Ability to work under stressful conditions and in difficult situations. May be exposed to hazardous materials and life-threatening disease. Ability to perform lifting/transfer activities related to patients. Ability to recognize needs and behaviors of specific age group patients. Standard precautions for radiation safety as per IDNS.This requirement supersedes any previous lifting requirement effective 04/20/2014. Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance. For patient lifts of over 35 pounds, or when patient is unable to assist with the lift, patient handling equipment is expected to be used, with at least one other associate, when available. Unique patient lifting/movement situations will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
