Position Purpose:

Performs a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgment in applying prescribed ionizing radiation for diagnostic purposes. Assumes responsibility for areas of specialization as assigned

What you will Do:

Assists Radiologist and performs special procedures and interventional procedures including arteriograms, myelograms, arthrograms, discograms, venograms, angioplasty, stenting, and drainage procedures, etc.Operates high-pressure injector for intra-arterial injections, monitoring settings, syringes, and high-pressure tubing.Is knowledgeable of catheters, guide wires and other equipment related to special procedures and interventional procedures..Prepares and/or administers contrast media, i.e., orally, IV or rectally per department and Radiologist's protocol..Demonstrates complete working knowledge of radiographic equipment within the department.Performs portable radiologic procedures in surgery, emergency room or inpatient rooms.Performs daily warm-up for radiographic room (where applicable), safety and visual maintenance checks and reports results to appropriate personnel.

Minimum Qualifications:

Must be ARRT registered and licensed by the State of Iowa.Must have BLS certification.  Vascular ARRT Interventional Technology Advanced Certification required preferred, or candidate will acquire within an acceptable time of acquiring the position.Prior Radiology experience preferred. Is able to perform a variety of duties characterized by frequent change.
