Overview As a Packaging Specification Writer, this role is responsible for ensuring that packaging specifications meet all required criteria and standards. Initially, you will lead the migration of legacy specifications to the new specification management system. Additionally, you will provide ongoing support to PepsiCo Packaging Engineers across various projects, including Innovation, TBS, Sustainability, and Productivity, ensuring that all packaging specifications are written in compliance with industry standards and requirements. Responsibilities Understand the PepsiCo PLM and SW ways of working in Global Pkg documentation and become proficient in the specification management system and IT Applications associated. Create and Update Packaging Specification Database by taking incoming packaging spec information and ensuring accurate documentation by collaborating with regional pckg teams and vendors and digitize the information into the specification system (SAP/PV).Audit incoming spec information for any omissions of required fields, errors, or needs in linking specifications to associated Finished Good Eaches and Finished Good Case Specifications. Collaborate with Regional ING/Non-ING Spec Writing teams or Coordinators to handle routing of specification in spec system from intitiation to final packaging approval. For Foods Pckg: Convert attachments to report to TIFF file format when files are requested to print on spec. report (mostly PDF to TIFF). For Bev Pckg: Convert pdf technical drawings to jpeg to letter size jpegs to upload in PV Upload required reports from specification systems to local systems as needed. Work with Spec Mgmt. Team Lead OR Spec Mgmt. Foods Packaging Spec Coordinator to resolve issues that may arise with regard to risks/challenges (timing, acquiring information from Pkg. Engineers requesting specifications, or system problems) in meeting specification timelines. Qualifications Experience within the Packaging CPG space (min 1-2 years) and familiar with Packaging Engineering terms and test methods. Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Engineering is desired. Well versed in MS Office 365 Effective communication skills, both verbal (Conf Calls) and written (reports, e-mail) in English Learning agility, self-motivation and desire for continuous self-improvement. Team player and works well with cross-functional, cross-regional and cross-cultural teams.
