This position is in Cargill’s food and bioindustrial business, where manufacturers, retailers, and foodservice companies rely on us to consistently deliver the products and services they need, and use our technical expertise and market knowledge to develop innovative products.
Job Purpose and ImpactThe R&D Lab analyst (Analytical Specialist I) will support and cooperate in the development/optimization of new/existing analytical methods to advance it their development, validation and implementation. In addition, you will provide support for the analytical chemistry contribution to multidisciplinary product and process development projects in the edible oils and fats R&D field, applying an understanding of principles, theories and concepts. Also, you will provide and maintain an uninterrupted high quality analytical service for our teams.
Key AccountabilitiesApply an understanding of statistics for validation of analytical methods and provide support to help establish and define controls to ensure stable operability.Assist in the development and documentation of plans for general projects, including equipment and capabilities required and for the identification of project success measures.Assist in the development of new or existing analytical chemistry and technology and help to translate the analytical discoveries of research into practical analytical methods that allow final implementation.Stay ahead of new analytic methodologies and technologies and collaborate with business functions to drive work solutions and direction.Handle basic issues and problems under direct supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.Other duties as assignedQualificationsMinimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
Ability to present and communicate effectively with multiple stakeholders
Understanding of statistics for analytical chemistry application and validation of analytical methods
Experience with related analytical instrumental equipment, including method development and hands on equipment troubleshooting
Experience with Gas Chromatography (i.e., GC, GC-MS, etc.) in QC and/or R&D settings is required for this position
